Bladeshow 2015 Purchases

Here is the Bourbon Street Skinner I picked up at the show:

The bobbed handle butt, tapered tang, green canvas liner and bolster that matches natural green tones in the burl wood handle perfectly; man - some time went into this knife.

It's nice to have friends that will do your sharking for you. I would not have these if it were not for Comprehensivist. Hopefully I can return the favor someday. I'm particularly proud of being able to add Ken's special sunburst BC to the collection. Her are four from Blade and one from Fiddleback Friday via Blade:

Ken did such a wicked job on those sunburst pattern scales. Nice score and more bib requiring shots of your collection :-) Bravo Ken!

I was able to handle that bad boy for a brief moment at Blade. It's a looker for sure. Congrats.
A real nice guy that Comprehensivist is.

Phillip:

The addition of Ken's artistic BC handled knife to your collection is quite fitting & will certainly shine a new light on all those beautiful BC's you've displayed for us on your stone pallet. I had a unique experience during a recent visit to the shop to hear Ken explain how he initially conceived this design, how the cuts were made, and then through the magic of Andy's handle shaping, how the final result came together. If there ever was a Fiddleback knife with elfin powers......this be the knife. Congratulations on your latest acquisitions and Kudos to Phil for being such a supportive friend :thumbup::thumbup:

Now I know whom to blame that I did not have a possibility to hold a bushcrafter in my hand ( which was one of my goals - to find out which moidels are good for me and which are not)

could somebody tell me how to connect the pictures from photobascket, then I will show the knife I bought

Just copy the link from the photo (right click on the photo > select 'copy image location/link' or whatever terminology your browser uses) and then paste what you copied in between
in your post.

Great story Peter, I'd love to hear the whole thing sometime. What I think is interesting is that the effect of the wood cuts looks like the annual rings from a cross sectional cut that are lined up. You can tell its not the same rings perfectly, but its pretty close, and they make the same arch on both sides. It's definitely impressive work.
