Bob Dozier Knives?

All I can say is if you are really into good knives, and can spring for a custom, a Dozier knife will not disappoint.

Here's a few of the ones I have, and have had:

Fewpop-- Very nice collection. Makes even those with many Doziers jealous... I was curious about your thoughts on the cow bone handle on your k-31...Do you consider that a very durable and reliable material for EDC. I have never strayed from Micatra on my Doziers(yet).

OKG - Micarta, as you know, is really durable material, but cow shin bones are pretty tuff also. I'm sure Bob could answer that question as well as any, and the good folks at the Dozier shop are always open to questions.

So its ordering time! I am a little torn between the Wilderness and the Pro Guides knife. I can get a Pro guides Knife now, but will have to wait for a Wilderness knife. Does it offer any advantages over the Pro Guide that would justify the wait?

Very easy answer to that. Do what I did, order the pro guide to start. Then order the wilderness at the same time. You have 14 months to save for it, and you have the pro while you wait. You will want both!!! I thought one was good, now I am on 8!!!

Well, I just placed my order. I decided to wait, and order directly from Dozier. There are a few other knives I want to buy in the meantime, and I figured this way I get to choose my handle material. Here are the knives I ordered:

KS-3 Pro Guides Knife, Black Micarta
KS-7 Wilderness knife, Antique Ivory Micarta
K-12 Small Game Skinner, Dark Blue Micarta
K-23 Fillet knife, Birdseye Maple with light golden-brown transparent finish

Now the wait :D

Oh well, Ive got a new Chris Reeve Umnumzaan on its way right now. I am totally stoked

The Guide don't do nothing half way!

Impressive.
I bet you won't be able to pick a favorite when they arrive.
Congrats!

Well, just added a KM-12 Bowie to my order. Decided to buy the Pro Guide from somewhere that has one in stock now.
So 14 months... here we go :D

Bringing this thread back. It's a good one.

I have a black micarta KS-7 on the way, can't wait! I hope this is the right choice for me. I was debating between it and the Pro Guide. Looking to get a K-28 next!

For some reason I really like that most doziers are simple micarta, nothing extravagant. It works whereas micarta on other knvies can be quite boring. Black micarta is cool, but I prefer yellow-natural-ivory colors. Ranger green and dark red micarta are nice too.

I had a K-30, similar to that, and any Dozier is a knife worth having, but it REALLY felt like a straight-up skinning knife. I don't hunt and the only thing I ever skinned with that knife was myself, a stab wound in my leg from dropping it. Super clean cut though, didn't even hurt or bleed much. 3 stitches.

KS-7 Wilderness just arrived! This is definitely the all around outdoors knife I've been searching for more than a year.

This picture is not mine, but mine is black. I like seeing it next to the Pro Guide.
