Boker/Carothers collaboration coming soon?

With the limited numbers made and the fact that these (to my knowledge) are not sold at the PX/NX on base, I'm going to assume few if any end up in the hands of anyone serving. Hopefully Boker decides to make a simpler version with no presentation box, kydex instead of leather and can get them into the PX/NX system.
If enough people contact Boker, there’s always a possibility.

Enough demand tends to motivate businesses.

This is so nice!

I placed a pre-order with Boker, then saw Blade HQ had them for $50 less so I emailed Boker to cancel my order and placed an order with Blade HQ. I guess they didn't get the memo... my preorder from Boker showed up yeserday and now my Blade HQ preorder is being delivered today. I guess it can't hurt to have 2
Hit me up if you end up wanting to let one go

Well, this came quickly, and I’m rather impressed. It came with a nice package and they followed Nathan’s programming faithfully. All dimensions seem right on. It weighs one ounce (9.1 total) more than the UF2. Not sure if that is due to the G10 handle material or maybe the skeletization of the handle? Maybe I’m full of it🤣. The balance point on my UF2 is about on the center line of the forward screw. The balance point on the Boker seems to be a hair (extreme technical term) back from the centerline. None of this is to be taken as criticism, just observation. It feels great in hand and comes with a paper slicing edge. The fit and finish are also very good. I’m proud of Boker for doing Nathan right. The knife also fits nicely into the UF2 kydex sheath.
I would not hesitate to recommend this knife to friends or others that may be looking for something a bit more entry level. Mike

How bout scales? Can we do some scale swaps?

The machining and size of the scales look identical, to my eye. The fact that the Boker handle also fits nicely into a UF2 kydex sheath, makes me think that scale swaps would be possible. I know the screws had been mentioned a bit earlier, if they and the threaded barrels are compatible, I’d think that it would be a go. I suspect that Nathan would know for sure.

Well friends, the Boker UF scales swap over job turns out to be a lot more stubborn than the CPK-UF swaps! I didn't get too deep in the weeds with it, i.e, using soldering iron to try to break down whatever that they use to bond their fasteners (tiny T6, ugh!) while securing the knife in a vice for safety. I use WERA tools so I did not strip the hardware but I could have easily marred both the shiny nut-head / scales if the small T6 tools got away from me. In short, not for me and I'll leave with it the way that Boker has created it.

I do remember seeing a photo from Nathan quite a while back (I think that it was a private photo share, not posted on here) with the blade and the scales showing separately but I am not quite sure. In closing, I am sure that taking the scales off can be done but apparently not worth the time and the hassle for me.

What’s different about them??? Does the swedge appear to go farther to the front and back on the Boker, or am I imagining things???

How about the chamfering (if that’s the right word) where the ring and pinky finger would land…is that the same??? Looks a bit different in the pic.

Pretty cool that Boker retained the “lines into diamond” scale pattern. That’s an awesome feature!

Long story short, looks like an amazing reproduction of what I think is one of CPK’s most awesome designs! Cool stuff!

It’s all pretty darn close. The rounded ring/pinky finger area on the CPk, from the bottom of the tang to the handle scale texturing maybe slightly more rounded, but I don’t know that I could tell soley by feel.
Since you’ve asked the questions, I’ve looked a bit more closely. It appears that the main bevels are slightly lower on the Boker and that the “flat” above the bevels is slightly wider and extends a bit farther up the blade. The chamfer is also slightly more wide, and extends a bit more close to the tip. I seriously doubt that I would notice any of this in usage. Hope this helps. Mike

Great explanation, Mike! Thank you, and appreciate the thoughtful response! And just another addition that I can add to the list of regrets for not getting one!! 🤣
