Boker "Tree Brand Classic" & Solingen made traditional knives

Current shot from early in the week, shows the knife colors (including current state of the copper patina and aging brass on the BFF) under controlled lighting.

Nice family shot.

Black and copper would nice IMHO, probably look similar to my original Integral Copper Micarta - like these SFOs it's also listed as a burlap micarta, but it's a much darker almost black brown with slightly lighter brown accents. Recycled image.

This “brown” is a nicer shade then the brown they used on the Sherman Barlows.
👍

The Expedition Stockman arrived.

Nice F&F. Slicey and stabby. Very minor gapping at one spot on one side of the spring. Not quite perfectly centered but close. Pull is good for me but might be a bit weak for others who prefer a strong pull. W&T is good but a slight amount of grit partway through, flush/ clean/ lube should fix it. Happy with this, it's a nice knife. IMHO another good one from Boker.

edit - no blade play.

Looks great Gordon, sounds like a winner.
😊👍

Sweet! Fine-looking Barlow.

Boker has been hitting home runs the last few years IMHO.

Providing no delays (again) with the shipper, I should have mine the end of the week. I hope.
Thank you! I only have a few, but this is my favorite Boker Barlow.

Arrived. Like pat9198 pat9198 I find the F&F on mine to be excellent - no gapping, centered blade, smoothly finished. Very minor roughness in the walk, should smooth out like the Stockman did after a little clean & lube and some exercising.

A couple comparison shots. SFO on the left, standard production on the right. Other than type of steel and color of micarta, pretty much the same. The copper on the right originally looked similar to that on the left - satin-finished. I've noticed most places that had the main version originally listed as brown micarta have now changed to reading black micarta, which is certainly closer to actual looks.

Super nice photos of your Bokers Gordon.
😎👍

I love those Böker Barlows but still cannot figure out what that little purse-thing is for.

I’m trying to resist ordering one for at least a little while anyway. You aren’t helping matters Gordon!
🤣🤣🤣

Well, we're all enablers here IMHO.

So.

If ya like the black and copper look, the main production integral copper/ micarta fits the bill.

Looks nice, man.

Especially with some patina. :D
