I think these knives are quite nice. I had one with stag handles and I liked the classy look and feel of it. Pull, Walk&Talk and the general Fit&Finish were very good. The steel could be better and the tools are 'rounded' too much IMO. E.g. I like the awls of GECs much better because they have a sharp tip whereas the awl on the Sports Messer is rounded off on the tip. Sharper edges on the tools would make them more useful for me.I just ordered the Sports Messer in Oak, "camp knife". Does any one have experience with this model?
I have looked at vintage examples many times but always to late to pull the trigger, so now I went with a NEW instead
Wow, that's a fine knife. And the jigging pattern is abolutely awesome!A 7474 stockman w/reddish bone handles
