I bet that looks cool too. They are wonderful pocket pals.
It's kinda funny, but my spares have a much darker patina. But they don't show any rubs to wear patterns in the darkening brass. And the micarta is cleaner.
What a great story. My father-n-law passed away almost four years ago and I have his SAK with his name on it, that he used to cut trout, right next to the one he bought for me with my name on it. Great memories. My paternal Grandfather's (1876-1970) last pocket knife and the one I bought to pay homage; they are stored together.

Why?bigfish64
I think this is the first time I've photo'd the three of them at once. One on the left is the first one I picked up, then the one on the right as a spare. Later I picked up a third (middle). Wasn't sure if they'd be available for long. (I have precedent for misplacing a knife long enough to buy a replacement, then misplace the replacement for an equally long time, and buy a third. And then find the other two at some point.)
The micarta on the one I carry has picked up quite a bit of sweat and body oil, oil from cleaning and lubing... probably should start rotating the other 2 into the carry rotation.

Why?
That isn't micarta junk
That's ... adding a bit of your soul to it![]()
I am guessing my comment came across wrong
No offense intended..
My apologies
Thanks for posting this photo Gordon. Those look fantastic! Mine has a few nicks and scratches even though I don’t carry it nearly as much as I should. The nicks came when it fell off our deck railing (where I take many of my photos) to a rock walkway below.bigfish64

Those look greatOldHercDude , in fact I kind of like how those three identical knives all look a little different. That’s the beauty of patina right there. That one’s been on my list for a while.

That’s magnificent!Since you opened it up to other Solingen Bokers, here is one featured in the 112 page Boker book (which is great). This example is here at the house.

I like the gold colored (brass?) shield, it's a beautiful knife. I agree they are fun users!Another Boker riding along today. Green Curly Burch limited edition. I like it, but it’s never cut a thing, it’s exists in my collection only to look good. I may have to reevaluate my Boker Barlow collection. The users are WAY more fun.View attachment 2075993
