Do you think that a $395 knife should ship without an additional fee of almost $8 for shipping?

Everything I see on their site says, "Ships for free". I don't know why you were charged, but complaining here won't help. Ask them why.

Instead of coming here and whining like a child, don't you think calling them woul'vee been a bit more productive??
I never choose free shipping. Takes way too long to arrive.
In regards to them 'stringing' you along, that is on the maker. KC tells you what they are told from the maker.
Call them!!

I'm sure most of the big knife vendors offer free shipping if you spend $99 or more.

I wouldn't want a $400 knife sent First Class mail without tracking. First class mail is the

Free shipping for $99 or more.

I am not sure. Knifeworks free shipping seems to take much less time than the standard first class.

First class mail has tracking, on packages. I've received many from eBay with it and without tracking a seller on eBay could be ripped off, if someone claimed falsely they never received what they purchased.

I don't blame KC for not knowing exactly when the manufacturer would send them back ordered stock. I once waited for 4 months for an old Porsche part that the mechanic kept telling me would be in in two weeks. However, I do see that they have a free shipping option in the US. If you did not chose expedited shipping and you live in the US you should call them and ask why you were charged. If you asked them to ship it faster, then the charges would be valid IMO.

I have to ask - what was the delivery method used? Did you select something other than the Free Shipping option?

Everything costs something and someone has to pay for it. If you don't want to pay, say so and maybe someone else will foot the bill. Or maybe not. But you have to ask.

OP, please let us know what Knifecenter says when you call them, I'd be interested to hear.
Is OP Veruka Salt? Or is she with HER. It seems her feelings have really been hurt
I'm sorry, I don't understand your post. Who is HER? The woman of negotiable affection?

Not sure about the negotiable woman, but this is the veruca Luke is referring to?

What is the reference to Uriah Heep? I get the other references to bastard, prostitute, slave owner, etc. I guess it's another thinly veiled derogatory comment.

I've never made a purchase from a retailer where shipping was not stated.
If the $7.77 shipping was a deal breaker then the deal was already broken.
If I felt t had been lied to and strung along I would have canceled and moved on.
It's still returnable for a full refund at this point, so there's that.

I don't believe for a second that shipping was tacked on after the fact without the OP being aware of it. When you make a purchase you are entering into an agreement to pay the negotiated amount for the goods and/or services being provided. The seller can't go in after the fact and change the agreed upon amount without renegotiating that with the buyer. To do so would be considered fraud. I don't believe that Knife Center would knowingly defraud a customer for a measly eight dollars. Either the OP agreed to the shipping charge without realizing it because he wasn't paying attention or he's got some other issue that he's upset about and has decided to unleash his fury on this shipping charge.

It sucks that the 247 wasn't immediately available when you wanted it, but that's a separate issue. Ultimately, having to wait a couple weeks is a pretty small transgression compared to the accusation of credit card fraud. So small that it's not really worth diverting the conversation away from the fraud to explore.

I am really curious as I had just placed an order from Knifecenter for an Olamic Wayfarer 247, on the 17th, and I did get free first class shipping. I was waiting patiently for these to be in stock and checking regularly. I also tried to score one off the exchange a couple of times.

So the numerous delays in shipping dates and alleged "lies" were not enough the cause you to cancel your order but the additional $8 shipping fee was just to much and if you had known would have cancelled your order? Makes sense.
