Born Again Maher & Grosh

Seeing the Refuse Removal Knife lined up against the M&G version is interesting. I think writing on the shield (Scout,Beer Scout etc) gives the knife a bit more character and personality. Not something you want on every pattern but when it is used it does seem to work well.

Thanks. Sometimes I use the Portrait mode on my phone camera. It focuses on what is up close and makes the background blurry. Here is a similar picture shot without the Portrait mode.

Thanks for the tip, I can definitely notice the difference. I'll try some new things in my future pics. Thanks!

A beautiful knife. I decided to pass on the Appaloosas, but it's always nice seeing them!! My Antique Yellow Bone should be in hand today or tomorrow, can't wait to see it in person!

Wow!:thumbsup: Very nice, you're a fortunate fellow!

When I was a kid I'd go to the local fairs and carnivals and try to win a stuffed animal, a fish or just anything...... I had terrible luck; I'd spend $2-$3 and come home empty handed and disappointed.... So when I was able to acquire the 4 M&G knives I felt like I had won the lottery!..... Maybe 71+ years of patience is finally paying off!!

Sounds like 71 years of hard work to me. Enjoy them. You've earned it.

Seems you must be doing something right, cuz those are NICE! Enjoy! Good pic too, thanks for sharing.:thumbsup:

I opted for just the two - 'tis all I could justify at the time. They are very fine knives. I love the jigged bone and that classic etch and though the half stops kind of surprised me (given that previous 35s did not have them), these are a big winner for GEC and M&G. Overall, they are really fantastic knives and represent that extra cut above most production level traditional slipjoints.

I have a very modest M&G collection so it was pretty easy to gather them all in one place for a family shot.

Modest in size only, Dylan. Those are all some great looking knives.
