Born on the Snark of July

I was born and raised in west Philadelphia. I spent most of my days on a playground, having a merry old time and engaging in the art of "hoops" with some colleagues outside of the school when suddenly, a couple of fellows started causing a ruckus. After the scuffle, which to me had seemed rather minor, my mother grew worried and decided it would be best if I went to live with my aunt and uncle in Bel Air. So I signaled a taxi and as it approached I could see that the license plate read "fresh" and that there were a pair of novelty fuzzy dice hanging from the review mirror. I thought this particular taxi rather odd but I brushed it off and told the driver to transport me to the home of my uncle and aunt in Bel Air. It was approximately seven or eight o'clock when I arrived at my destination and as I bid the driver farewell I also made note of the odor emanating from his vehicle and that if our paths ever crossed again I would recognize him from it. I surveyed my surroundings and thought to myself that I would be living like a prince and that this would be my kingdom.

True story.

Best laugh I've had all day.
Thanks for that.

That tale of your youth reminds me of the story of my Uncle Jed.
He was not a very wealthy mountainman who had a hard time putting food on his family's table.
Then one day he was stealthily taking a shot at some game,
When crude suddenly sprung forth from the earth like a geyser,
I'm talking about oil here. Some refer to it as Black Gold or perhaps Texas Tea...

Well it didn't take long for him to become a millionaire.
Many of his relatives advised him to move away from his current residence.
They told him that California is a swell place.
So he and his family loaded a Uhaul and headed West to the town of Beverly.
Beverly Hills I mean. There are many swimming pools and a lot of movie stars take residence there as well.

I hadn't heard of golden bullets being inconsistent, but I can say from experience that Remington thunder bolts are suckish.

Nice score bigghoss.

I swear, it's like I've met you two somewhere before

The forum be a little slow this evening. I guess some people go out on a Friday night, haha.

Murph was right -- this is pretty tasty.

The LBS carries that. The first time I saw the bottle I thought it was their double chocolate stout. I was sorely disappointed when I read the label. I've tried a few odd brews, but I think I will leave the hot sauce stout to the pros.

That reminds me that I have a some home brew from my parent's neighbor waiting for me in their fridge.

these and their cousins are referred to on forums as blunderbolts...

questionable accuracy, very dirty, potentially prone to jamming, misfiring, misfeeding, and squibs

but if you can deal with that...

golden :D

I don't know if I've tried the Golden Bullets or not before, the thunderbolts I have noticed a slightly higher amount of duds but I don't think I've seen more than about 1%. Dirty maybe, haven't noticed poorer accuracy and my 10/22 with tech-sights and Heritage Rough Rider can put rounds right where I want them. Maybe if I tried them from my Savage MKII TR at 80-100 yards I might see a difference but the casual shooting I normally do it isn't an issue.

Decided to drive my '84 Chevy K5 to work today. Stopped at a convenience store and when I tried to leave it seemed like I wasn't getting power to the starter. Dash lights came on and the power window in the tailgate worked but the starter wasn't even drawing power. Luckily one of my co-workers also stopped and I got a ride with him. I think either the ignition switch is shot or the starter cable is loose/bad. Luckily all my tools are in it so I just need a ride back out there after work and I should be able to have it going pretty quick.

It is a little pricy, but I really like it. I was planning on getting a new pack for school, might get one of those, or maybe a GGG lightweight assault pack. Really want a goruck g1, but that's a little out of my price range

GoRuck makes a Shadow Ruck that's probably a little more geared toward daily life.
