A CM-6? Looks nice, a little different, and designed by Ethan's friend Terrill Hoffman (of PYP fame). I'd say take some cash, get 'em in hand and then decide.

I seriously doubt I'd part with mine. It's really the only "collectible" knife I have - and it's still a user.
Just a regular ESEE 6.
The Esee 6 is outstanding. The CM 6 is also nice, but I would say get a DC 6
It really is. I love it. The DC6's are gonna fly off the shelf, if they ever get released, haha.

I just dropped some coin over in the custom knife forum.
little Childress neck knife.

Thanks, I have been eyeing his work for a wile. I am a sucker for small fixed blades. Just so useful and you can always have one with you.

Any of you guys use these? Looking into getting either this or an exotac fireRod

I can see that being laid up is going to be very bad for your wallet.....
Those look pretty nice. I use some rods from firesteel.com that work great and are reasonably priced - when I'm not using my LightMyFire knife. That thing (basically a Mora with a removable rod) kicks ass for such a short, thin firesteel. Plus if you shop around online, you get a firesteel with a handy little knife attached for the same $$ as the Exotac. For straight firesteels, the firesteel.com GobSpark Armageddon is pretty hard to beat, IMO. Made in the USA (in NH, no less) mine throws a sh!t-ton of sparks.

Since apparently even chevy guys on forums don't know the difference, the part on your car where the key goes in to start it is called the ignition LOCK, not the ignition SWITCH. They are two separate parts and now my steering column is torn apart for nothing and I still don't know where the switch is. And a storm rolled in so I had to quit for the day. That BK9 video is going to have to wait at least a week. Maybe if I get the truck fixed and back together tomorrow I'll try to go play with something else for the afternoon and make a video of it.

I agree about the usefulness of small blades.
My BK11 sees tons of use and it's always nearby.

Zoiks!!
Thanks for the heads up guys.
FIRE it is!!

We called them bag worms growing up in Missouri, but I think they are actually tent caterpillars of some sort. I do recall that they made excellent fishing bait for bass and bluegill in our little pond. So you may not want to go the fire route if you need some bait.

No joke, luckily I haven't bought anything yet. I'm trying to sell a knife in order to get one of these, but no one seems to want it. Oh well
I've looked at the LMF knife and it definitely seems interesting, might have to try it out. I've also looked into getting something from firesteel.com and making my own handle but haven't decided yet.
I really like how you can replace the rod in the exotic though

Firesteel.com also sells them complete, which is what the Armageddon is. Plus practically, you could light a fire every day for 5 years with that thing and still be OK, I looked hard at the Exotacs, and decided I'd never light so many fires that I'd need to replace it. I love how high tech it is, but for the price.....
And I know you have some extra wood....be easy enough to order a bare rod and epoxy it into a handle of your own making. And, the LMF is only around $25-30 shipped....same as the Exotac and comes as a very useful knife besides....just saying.

Your right, on all of it lol. But that's my problem, there are so many choices, and they all do the same thing.

And I'm not sure if I've said it yet or not, but thanks for everything you sent, I really appreciate it. I'm working on getting a small "shop" area set up so I can start on some stuff, and I'll definitely be updating the knife modification thread once I get started

You're very welcome. Best of luck to you and I am looking forward to seeing your progress.

I HATE the new "environmentally friendly" light bulbs. Pretending that 700 lumens is the same as 840 lumens is more pretending than I can do. Especially when you spread it across multiple bulbs in one fixture. Lighting was designed with a certain lumen output in mind and we aren't getting it anymore.

I think I'm going to upgrade to the 53W pretending to be 75W or maybe even the 72W pretending to be 100W bulbs if I can find them.

Did I mention that I HATE these things?

I may have to look into those again. Hopefully they've come down in price from the last time I looked.
