Bose Knives

Take care John. See ya in a couple of weeks.

I can not wait to spend some time with you guys. All of you have safe trips, have good luck at the dawings and let me know if there is anything I can lend a hand with. The fifteen minute drive does not take much out of me. ;)

Yesterday we went out on the water, sailing out of Orient Pt.,LI,NY.We "limited out" on striped bass in under 2 hrs,our six man charter took 12 (two per man),28" & over, these are up to 23 lbs.

Today I prepared some sautee'd bass medallions
I trimmed the "red stuff" off the whole fillets, using, first,my Kerry Hampton Swayback in D-2,and then I gave my T Bose BP in CPM 10V a try Both knives, like scalpels for this ,but the fat from the fillets has to be rised off the blade, otherwise your edge can't "bite"
I was curious to see, what the contact of the bass meat would do to the steel.
Normally,I'd use my Paul LeBatard Fillet that cullpeppj hooked me up with,it's ATS-34
I washed both knives off with fresh water real good after using them,& dried them off real good, after dinner I oiled 'em up
Surprisingly, the bass out of "old salty" did nothing to either the D-2 or the CPM 10V
A question for Tony,or anyone who knows,If that CPM 10V steel comes into contact with salt water & is not rinsed down right away, say like hours, will it rust ? Maybe a stupid question, but tonights test was in a controlled situation,I'm just wondering how much of "old salty" these steels can take
Thanks in advance & hope you like the fish pix

I don't think the 10V rusts readily but I would keep an eye on it. It is a carbon steel. The D2 would more likely get some pits in it around salt water. If you clean them at the end of the day you would probably be OK.

Thanks for the reply on that Tony, looking forward to meeting you at the big show,

Can one of you please tell me where I can go on the net to purchase a Bose knife? Thanks very much.

You just have to be quick. When they show up they are usually gone in seconds!

A Real One and not a collaboration of Tony and Case, is a rare bird indeed. Sometimes they come up on BF and personally have not seen one on ebay even searching daily for 6 months. Come to Blade and maybe you will have your name drawn to be able to buy one. Go sell that Corvette and get ready.;)

BTW, John caught the tail end of their act, which is the best part.

nice nice haul!

Riad,
We were drift fishing in the Plum gut, buctails & those new molded shads,on 3 way rigs Small spring bass there, but perfect size for eating

also a R. Bose on iqknives.com...a bit pricy, but if you really want one, a knife is worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it.

That is an awesome looking pair!

I got the one on the left coming Tues, my niece did the pickup, got the free Case bandanna and a signed paper showing Authenticity by the old dawg himself.
Ain't I got a sweet niece?:)

I'd be pretty nice to you also if you paid me $100 to pick up a knife. I'm more than happy to run down to the knife store and get you a swiss army knife or something...and I'll only charge you $20 and a bottle of crappy bourbon (joking)

Was fighting all that traffic and folks worth a Ben? I got the knife without the traffic. Missed the Dawg though.:grumpy:

Had medical appointments in Bham and celebrating Son's Birthday Today.

Come over to Blade and I will buy you a coke or something stronger, like sweet tea.;)
