Bose Knives

Pic is up and running, Jim. That's a sweet blade! Schrade made a blade like that pre-WWII, and called it a "Zulu spear". Nice shape!

...Do do that Zulu that you do so well... ;)

It seems like a long time since I talked to John about this one, it will be coming in soon.

Modified Wharnie Gents Knife.

Here's my Zulu for comparison (in response to Blues' lyrical entreaty!:D).

Congrats Jim, that's a great looking knife.

How old, what is the steel, and what is the closed length?

Still in John's hands, perhaps he will post up exact specs, I just knew I wanted it and did not ask too many questions.:(

that Schrade is a kicker..the blade...the bone...the shield....it just works for me. Thanks for posting

Glad you like it John. That style of Peachseed bone is so beautiful, I am surprised more sole-author custom makers don't try it more often!! (hint, hint;))

Note; For those who have asked, it looks like the rivet head was spun too much, and eventually broke off. The knife is so near mint, and rare, I don't want to touch it, so it goes un-repaired.

Charlie, though not the same, this bone jigged by a maker we have both come to know and respect has a similar "feel" to it in some ways. Maybe we should ask him to try to replicate the peachseed style in a future effort.

Nice Bone Blues....but you are going to need to use that knife for about 50 years or so to get close to that color

I thought we were talking about the jigging but understood about the color. Actually, the color is almost dead on with the color of my sowbelly by Reese.

(Apologies in advance for posting another maker's work in this thread but I know that neither Bose would frown upon its usage within this context.)

I see what you mean, Elliott. The Schrade "jigs" are more parallel, giving it a grain, like a material found in nature. Does that make sense to anyone??

Paul Harvey from Florida won the bidding on this beautiful Arkansas Hunter prototype set at the Case Customer Appreciation event. Congratulations Paul! That's going to make a mighty fine addition to your collection.
