The doctor is in the house! :D Great looking knife. A hearty congrats. Bring it to Blade so we can all goober it up with our fingerprints and slobber.

I am pretty sure I have yet to see a knife by Tony or Reese that I did not like, but that Eureka Jack and Dr. Knife are killin' me.
Killin' me dead. :D

JpN's SSS (stag-shadow-sowbelly) in post #3165 caused my heart to skip a beat. Of course that happens pretty often in this thread.

But it's a good,unhealthy though,ain't it?

Aw Come on,don't make like you don't know what I'm talking about...
Someone posts a picture of a newly acquired,or a "put back" Bose knife, and you know, you get some heart flutters, adrenaline, anxiety, maybe heartbreak ?
Or,one off the bench from the WW,I'll admit it,it gets me going
It's a good feeling.

I have always liked that pattern......and If I am not mistaken at one time that blade setup was kicked around for a Case/Bose Collaboration.

After a little research and some digging I came up with this knife. A couple prototype knives were made using the SowBelly Trapper pattern for a 2nd production knife, not a Case/Bose Collaboration Knife.
The first Sowbelly Trapper was equipped with a spey blade. The second Trapper sports an upswept-skinning blade.
Here is the upswept-skinning knife, D-2 blades (stamped XX) and Remington bone scales. Sadly none of these were ever made.

Also a single blade “Lock Back” Sowbelly Pull-a-Part knife was made, which was never produced (a slip joint version was).

Thank You, such a shame that pattern never made it into the Case line up for collabs.
Thanks for sharing,
Jim

I have not posted much recently, because I have been working in the US, where my travels have taken me to the great states of MA, NJ, and TX.

Since I travelled to the US, with all of the baggage risks entailed, I did not bring any of my irreplaceable custom knives with me. Just getting by with a SAK, and maybe one or 2 other knives, but not one of my Bose knives, which ordinarily are in my pocket.

How could I do this, you might ask? Go Boseless for a month?

Not hardly.

In the great state of Massachusetts, home to some of the best hospitals and Universities in the world, also reside some of the best knife people in th world. One of those, who I shall refer to as 2toes (in order to protect his secret identity) very kindly invited me to his home when I had a couple of hours free.

He had spread out on his table the most amazing assortment of Bose knives that I had ever imagined, much less seen. Unfortunately, I had only a couple of hours, but believe me when I say that I could have spent days handling those knives. And, as you would expect, every one of them were just wonderful, with all of the quality that you expect.

There were so many!!!!!

I am not home yet, and cannot scan the knives that I took with me when I left. I will do so at first opportunity, or perhaps 2toes has pics of them for posting. One is a Rogers whittler (Tony), and one a Wharncliffe trapper (Reese)---both in ivory.

I am not Boseless any more.:D

John, my best regards to you and your lovely wife, and my sincere thanks for your hospitality. You have succeeded in turning a business trip into a major knife happening, and my visit to your home was a high point in my knife collecting activity.

Thank you again.

That 2Toes is OK for a Patriots fan. :D I bet that was quite a display you saw Ed. I hope you can take some pictures of your new Bose knives.

I know that it must sound like heresy for someone to grow up in Colorado and move to Boston, with all the transfer of sports-team allegiance that that implies.

Luckily for me, the folksy forum is populated by tolerant people of generous heart, who are willing to ignore such flaws in my personality.

I will try to scan some pics on my return to Israel.

What a beauty! Love the blade set-up. It would be a priviledge to carry that knife.
