Bose Knives

Many of you have already seen this whittler that Tony made in 1992 on another forum. It's 4 1/8 long and is based on Case's 83 balloon whittler, which I have always liked. It has ATS-34 blades

It came with a letter from Tony to the buyer, as well as with some line drawings where Tony had hand written in the prices, a catalog of patterns printed on resume paper and some copies of the 83 whittler that Tony based this knife on. They're all interesting to read and look at.

It's in great shape for being 16 years old. Couple of rub marks on two blades but that's about it. Tony said he didn't have as many tools to make knives back then but the fit and finish have Bose DNA.

The swegde on the main blade of Mike's new whittler,is similar to the way a lot of fiddleback hunters were done :D
But if you look at old swell center whittlers,it is even moreso. That's pretty incredible! All in the details!

Way Kewl, Mikey! Thanks for sharing & the Look See!
Great Photos!!
Tony sure knows how to add that "Very Special Folksy Folk Touch" to everything he creates!
THAT IS JUST "OUR TONY" & THE REASON HE IS SO LOVED BY SO MANY FOLKS ALL AROUND THE WORLD!!

Nice one Mike. Let me know when you get want to get rid of it. You'll never use that, its too nice. If you put it in your pocket you'll scratch it all up.

George, I couldn't hardly keep those bolsters free of smudges when I was takng pictures and scans of it. I think I'm going to get pink tulips engraved on it so I won't have to worry about smudges.

Thanks for all of the nice comments on Tony's earlier work. He said the stag was from a large carving set. It's pretty flat stag.

I took this picture while rinsing down this morning,no fish to show you.I thought it came out pretty cool,so I'll add it.I was telling Mike he should put a piece of bright cord on his BP.
You can see by the popper ,the teethmarks of mostly small bluefish
That BP has a toothy edge as well

SHHHoooooot...I can beat THAT!

Reese patterned this knife off of an old Western trapper he received from a friend. The knife is 4 1/4" long and covered with black paper micarta that he jigged. Drop point Blade and spring is D2. Reese is going to carry this one. This knife looks much like the "Backpocket" but is a little bit slimmer package.

Ok...so maybe yer thinkin, that's a great knife and all but it aint better than a left handed ivory desk knife. Tsk tsk tsk. Ya'll are jaded by too many pics of great knives, I can tell. Possibly even desensitized . I'll try to do better next time.:D

How bout this?! Whatcha got here is a Tony Stag WT with Caps. Ya just don't see these with caps very often. Blades and springs are cpm-440v. See if you can figure out what else that is "out of the ordinary" with this knife.
