The blade steel is CPM-M4. The patina was put on it by Tony. I like it, makes it look like old carbon steel. I not sure how he did it.

This is the first backpocket I've ever had and is a handful. I carved with it a little today. It will be handy on the big stuff. I seam to like all the steel that is on the Bose knifes. I've tried d-2, 440v, and now CPM-M4. I cant really tell the difference. They all get real sharp and hold an edge for a long time.
