Duh,right there in front of me,D-2,this thread may be de-sensitizing me

Tony patterned this little beauty after a Schrade Cut. Co. teardrop jack probably made in the early 1920's. This is the first and maybe the only one he will make like this. Subsequent knives of this pattern will be slightly more narrow in the handle and master blade depth.

Blades and springs are ATS-34. 410 SS bolsters/caps/liners. The caps are pinned through and through. Shield is pinned SS and all pins are SS. The punch blade is 2" radius hollow ground and the handle is "eased" for access to it's pull.

I thought you might enjoy seeing the old knife that this one was patterned after. The punch mysteriously looks like a pen blade in the old knife :) and Tony said that he will make others with the pen blade as well.

P.S. Tony didn't rip apart this great old knife to pattern new ones. It was sent to him that way.

I am trying to remain calm!!!

Congrats Charlie and Tony. A beauty!

congrats Charlie, I thought you might have had something to do with Tony making a SCHRADE patterned HARNESS JACK :D

That is too cool Charlie.

Congrats to you and Tony!

My only specifications were Harness Jack, and stag!
But Tony's momma didn't raise no fool!:D

Thanks for the positive comments everyone! After much soul searching, but more important, some good natured ribbing from Tony;) , I am going to carry and use that knife!
It's the spirit with which he makes them, that is to be fully functional, and so the knife will be used, but of course not abused!

Kerry, thanks for posting the knife pics, and the Schrade "progenitor"! Nice clear images, I keep coming back to them to have another look!!
BTW the second Schrade URL doesn't work for me. Can you post it again?? I'd love to see what it is,
Thanks,
Chomping Charlie (at the bit that is!;) )

So this weekend we had one of those neighborhood garage sales where I live. While walking around the hood and checking out the other garage sales, I managed to pick up this R. Bose 4.5 inch back pocket from a guy in a serape named Don Juan in exchange for the last of my magic pinto beans.

I know a couple of these 4.5 back pocketknives have been posted in this thread recently by Duckman and 2Toes, but I thought I would illustrate how large it really is.

I have large hands (and you know what they say about those of us who have long fingers; it’s doubly true in my case) but as you can see in this picture the Bose BP is humongous next to my hand and arm.

In this second photo I’ve placed the Bose BP next to my current 3-inch EDC. Did I mention this was a big knife?

Dear Lawrence Talbot,

If the Moon is going to be full, please be sure to have someone lock you in your room and ensure you stay there for the duration...
