Bose Knives

Some really smart IT nerd needs to tell me the difference between a thread with 100 posts and 100 new and seperate threads. Beware before you explain, I too am somewhat nerdy.

Same reason I lost an hour of sleep the other night and had to drive to work in the dark this morning.

Seriously, I don't have a clue, but I think it might have something to do with binary encryption (I heard an explanation once, but didn't understand it).

It would be very helpful to just preserve the original posts with the pics. for all posterity as well as the present.
i was trying to find a T. Bose i am sure was posted here. didn't find it; 289 pages is too much.
the posts with comments are enjoyable but do not need to be kept.
the fun and 'chat' will always continue without a full record of all that has been said.
still waiting for my first T. Bose. maybe it hasn't been born yet, just raw material in the ground, but one day i will own one.
the Cosmos has always been good to me.

I'd not like it if the OLD KNIVES thread was locked. And several more big ass threads as well. :D

I wonder if pictures are a bigger part of the problem than text. They take up a lot of space. I've seen a few comments asking not to quote another post, and re-display pictures unnecessarily.

I eagerly await the forensic report regarding the weekend outage. Maybe one of the Mods can comment on the locked thread strategy.

Would it be possible to simply lock this thread, post a sticky at the top of the subforum, leave this thread intact and then just start a new Bose thread? The same thing could be done with Kerry's thread.

I can imagine how images hosted on the BF server can cause processing issues. However, all of the images that I post are hosted on BoseKnives.com not Bladeforums. You Internet browser and the BoseKnives.com (and KnifeHead.com) server does all the work to display the images. Pix that are hosted on BladeForums server are already very limited and looks to me like a small proportion of images are actually hosted here.

That's what I said, NATURAL AMBER STAG, not the fake stuff. CPM154 blade and spring, SS Rattail Bolsters, and SS bullock shield and pins.

That stuff is nice. I sold Reese my best pieces of natural amber stag at Blade last year (well, actually Reese talked me into selling it to the person he was going to make a knife for). I would love to see how the handle turned out.

No potassium permanganate either?

PP doesn't make stag look like that does it? I think if it did, we would see a whole lot more stag with these kinds of colors. Anywho, the point is, this stag is not dyed, as in dyed stag, as in this-is-boring-so-let's-make-it-purdy-man-made-colors stag.

I have read that sambar stag can't be exported unless it is treated with pp:confused: Guess you can't believe everything you read on the internet:D Where can I get a post ban ivory knife? I never see anyone advertise them:D I've been reading Capstick and them Elephants are dangerous. Wouldn't it suck to be rich enough to go on Safari and not be able to bring back the ivory:mad:

I don't think it's necessarily the photos (that uses bandwidth of the hosting site, but that's about it), my understanding is that it is the number of posts and it would be the same even if every post was just one line with no graphics.

That may be the stuff that you sold to Reese because he had to relinquish said stag to the Old Dog because the customer wished it. Dang..and to think that could have been on YOUR knife....it's an epic tragedy I tell ya. :D

Yep I heard that too, that all stag from India is treated with PP to kill off unwanted pesky critters. So it's NATURAL to have PP treated stag in this country. :D

I have a knack for finding the good stuff. I'll track some down...you just wait and see. But since I require a knife from you IMMEDIATELY, maybe we will do bone or ivory this time and save the stag for the 10-blader you are going to make me in the fall :)

The 10-blader eh. OH YEAH..The one with the tire iron, buck saw, crescent wrench, cap lifter, flat blade driver, phillips driver, clip blade, nail file, scissors, and tooth extractor?
