"mega threads" are threatened and this thread has reached GIGA PROPORTIONS! What to do?:eek::D

Well, if it might get deleted due to its size, what about simply editing it? Get rid of all the general "Ohhh, that's sweet!" "Wooohooo!!!" type replies (especially replies that duplicated all the images) and keep the core original posts with images, plus any meaty informational posts (with or without images) that are deemed worthy. That would have to cut the thread length down by at least 3/4 and nothing of real reference value would be lost.

Ok, here is the solution (that I suggest as Bose Ho's General Counsel). Let's make the Bose Knives Thread into a Sticky, and create a "Bose Knives Part II". That way, they will always be at the top right next to eachother.

I don't think we should delete all of the "oooosssss" and "aaahhhsss" because that is what most of us do on the thread when a new knife is posted. But I have always thought it was silly for someone to repost 10 pics of a knife 6 inches down the page from where the original knife pics were posted. I think that most of us gawgle over the knives posted in the thread so much that we don't exactly need to see all the pics again to know which knife someone is referring to when all they are doing is reposting 10 pics to say "Sweet Knife"

Anyways, I'm on a boring conference call so thought I'd ramble a bit

I believe in fighting fire with fire so here's another sweet one (I can hear the oooohs and ahhhhs already :D) from Reese and it's going to Blade.

This Norfield whittler looks great with the baloon shield, which I believe is a traditional Norfield shield. ATS-34 blades and springs and bone dyed and jigged by Reese.

Ok..I nominate zerogee to head up that project...YAY! :D

I wouldn't mind working on it -- though I've got no moderator whammie to be able to do any actual thread editing. I'm not terribly crazy about the idea of killing most of the general commentary either, but if it will save the meat of the thread, then yeah.

Dude..I wouldn't wish that job on my worst enemy. I was kidding, of course. I agree that there is much fluff in this thread that is unneccessarryy, likke when peeeople use toooo many lettttters to get atttttention. :p

BTW...did anyone notice that I just posted a really cool knife done by Reese?

Hmmm, maybe we can just close this thread and be really quiet about it and start Bose Thread II. There're almost 6,000 posts on this monster -- ok, maybe that's just a bit much for me, OCD or not. :o

I *did* notice the Reese whittler - love the cloud shield, nice bone too -- unfortunately the Northfield whittler happens to be one of the few Bose patterns I'm not too keen on.

That knife looks like its not an easy vintage knife pattern to just "whip up" a custom version of it.
These guys know what the heck they are doing!

One set of pictures is all we need! There is another forum (AAPK) that brings forward the quotes, but drops the pics. Maybe that's an easy way to save bandwidth!
I am sure we are all capable of scrolling back to the original picture post!
In the meantime, let's agree to stop re-quoting the pics!!

Nice knife Reese!! Makes an impression!!
I can see it in my mind, without bringing it forward!!:D

Sorry if it was in bad taste, Charlie, but my last post was a joke. I totally agree about re-using pics. But really, Campbell has the best idea: just start another thread.
