Bose Knives

Kerry Is that Sway Back the 3 5/8'ths
I love hint of bark and figure on that incredible Ivory

That knife is sweet, aint it ??

Kerry,or Tony,That Warny trapper in post # 646,is that the 3.5" version ?
I have that same exact knife on order with Reese, except brown jig bone.
I ordered it with 440V.
Well worth the wait..

When I first got that Lanny's clip,I referred to it as ," like a folding hunter"
In comparison to the 4.5" BP,it feels and seems, like a stout jack knife.

I guess it's all relative

that is the 3 1/2"er that is the ultimate EDC
youve got a nice stag thing going maybe you should consider stag scales

Riad,I totally agree, and have been tossing it,ALOT.But I do not want to call Reese and act like a PITA.But maybe I should, the only thing I'll be changing is the brown jig,to stag
Maybe if Tony sees this he can take care of it for me ?? Please Sir,may I have some more stag ??
-Vince

Wait, what am I talkin' about,I'm going to Blade '08,I'll tell him myself...
-Vince

While I am on the subject....
And I'm not saying that other knifemakers stag,is not,or cannot be great or awesome, but,Tony and Reese Bose knives have the nicest stag,on folders,I've ever had,and I probably never will order stag, again,on any other makers knife. Not only matched in looks, but contoured like no other.
As a matter of fact,I find myself looking at folding knives in stag, and comparing it to my Bose knives, and others I've seen in pictures,as if I'm using the Bose stag as a reference,as if it is the standard of perfect
With that said,I think I will definitly change my order with Reese to stag.
Riad has a keen eye on what's going on with the Bose knives,he spotted something that was my thoughts on these knives

I'm sorry, I didn't measure it. I'll find out if Tony doesn't say something about it here. I agree, the ivory is sweet looking with that hint of bark.

I'm pretty sure that the Wharncliffe Trapper is 3.5"

Randy,You can't do that....You can't just post a picture and not tell us about it.You know better

Randy,
Please bring some Indiana Real Estate brochures to Blade with you ,for me,would you ? Please ?

To me, the 3.5 Wharncliffe trapper is the quintessential Tony Bose knife. When I first got interested, the collectors in the know all said that was the knife to get. They said the saddlehorn was his signature knife, but the wharncliffe trapper is the one everyone carried. That's what Tony's had in his front pocket for the time I've known him. It's what I have in my pocket today in fact... 3.5, stag, 440V, fluted bolster, federal shield. And this one NEVER goes in a pouch.

Here it is with my latest whittling project. The Wharncliff on the WT is perfect... thin enough to cut the chain links apart. The bushing makes me less concerned about the occasional light pry or twist.

AMEN! on all counts. This is THE Tony Bose knife. It's unfortunate that Case has made so many of these to date without acknowleging that this is a TB pattern. Maybe they will some day.

"The bushing makes me less concerned about the occasional light pry or twist."

I was told, that the 440V would not be too good for this,a pry or a twist, since it was harder, more brittle, especially when ground thin.
Was I mis informed?

I think the 3.5 " WT is the perfect carry knife. I can use it for carving and everything else I use a knife for.

fasteddie, very cool chain carving.

Vince, you're right. 440V is more brittle. I'm careful about it and only do it whittling on basswood, which is pretty knife-friendly wood. Even with that, I took a little bit of the side of the point... very little... off my swayback. I'm even more careful since that happened. I just happened to end up with 440v on the knives I like to whittle with.

Thanks. Means a lot coming from you. Where do you stand on 440V for whittling?
