Bose Knives

Vince, you're right. 440V is more brittle. I'm careful about it and only do it whittling on basswood, which is pretty knife-friendly wood. Even with that, I took a little bit of the side of the point... very little... off my swayback. I'm even more careful since that happened. I just happened to end up with 440v on the knives I like to whittle with.

Ed,this is just what I was told. But I also was told the 440V would be as sharp as D-2,but hold an edge better, and is ss.That is what made me specify that steel when I ordered a knife from Reese

I like 440v. I have 2 WT's in 440v and use them both, no problem with chipping. If I could I would use D2 for all my carving. But I really think its in the heat treat.

I swear I'll keep both hands atop the desk,LMAO,

I couldn't let that one go by. You're welcome Don and I'm glad you like it.

Something a little different, a back pocket in shadow pattern. This is a using knife for sure.

With the help of several members of this forum, I was finally able to get my hands on a Tony Bose pocketknife. I had to give up my mammoth back pocket by Reese, so I went from a very large knife to this small 3 1/8 swayback. Steel is D2.

Fantastic, Mike. I love the looks of that swayback, and the others ain't exactly chopped liver either. Congratulations bud.

Thanks all. Those Bose guys sure are something. Used it for the first time today after taking the scans.

For cost reasons, I may have to switch over to collecting gum off the underside of restaurant tables though.
