Bose Knives

That 4-line is what dreams are made of.

You could put a pic of that on my headstone and I would die happy!

I recently acquired this T. Bose Trapper. A stout, strapping, heavy knife that feels great in my hands. I was not sure if I would like the straight nail nicks originally but I have wide thumb nails and these nail nicks give me better purchase than any slipjoint I have handled. My fingers feel safe! Both blades are maker marked and steel marked. ATS-34 steel. One thing I would really like to know is the approximate age of the knife. Any thoughts? I should have backed off on the resolution of these pictures, sorry about that.

Is it true Tony's retiring? I watched a youtube video about the Case/Bose collaborations and one of the commentators said he was retiring. If this is true, what will become of Bose Knives?

Nice trapper, Brad!
I think that style of nail pull goes back a ways!
Do you remember, Tony?? And also, tell us you are NOT retiring!!
Just a rumor, right??

It's just a rumor folks. When I die I want to grind some of my nose off when I fall across that Burr King grinder.

That knife is from the earlt 1980s.

Tony,

Thank you for the information. I knew it went back a little ways. Fine testament to quality construction as this knife obviously has been used some. I wish I had discovered this style of nail nick earlier and the next custom I order of a big slipjoint will have it. The knife does not have the flair of some of the safe queens but it has a lot of character. Feels like a old pair of jeans.

I really like that combination of blades; the pointy blade is great for skinning birds (unless you pluck 'em.)

For those of us that carry and use these every day, it's a pretty good feeling to know that we can hand them down to our children and grandchildren and they will be in fine working order.

I know they would be worth more money if I left them in a safe, but that feeling more than makes up for any possible monetary loss. I just hope that my daughters and their children prize these knives as much as I do.

Don't forget to put a nice swedge on it, Tony!!:D

Seriously, I'm glad it's just a rumor!!

I would be honored to own one some day
just too cool and classy looking, keep going Tony

I'd want one to accompany me from this 25th year until I die....

Tony,

A few years back I had to use some bandaids, as I was opening one of your knives, and Wham!:p If you ever do "fall forward", and hit the big grinder, well..I think that it will take more than "a few bandaids" to put the nose back togeather! :D :p :D\

It would take All the Kings horses and All the Kings Men, to put old Tony back together again!

Tony Bose, Todd Davison, Ken Erickson are all great knife makers and very nice men! If you have a question all you need to do is ask and they'll answer.
