Bose Knives

That is certainly a great looking knife. Do the Bose have a reason for either leaving a grind as is or hand finishing on a particular model? Seems like the degree of finish on the handle itself has no relationship to the final blade finish. What am I missing here?

Steel type - this one is 440V - it really doesn't take finer finishes well. Blade finish is also dependent on what the customer wants, even on steels that can handle a finer finish. A lot of folks prefer the Bose working "belt" finish regardless.

Thanks Zerogee.

Keith is right on the money. Even my knife with ATS-34, which rubs out nicely, has a belt finish on it. Tony knew that I would use the knife and this finish is perfect for me.

Mornin' Ho's,
No blood 'n' guts this morning, but a really nice Reese Ivory knife to view, amongst some othe Wilfred Works goodies.
This is the Western pattern knife,by Reese in Ivory, witch I can't photo it like Kerry, but you'll have to trust me,its sweet. What impresses me moreso though,is the grind on this blade.
Enjoy the eye candy,
-Vince

Incredible knives. I have never purchased a traditional knife, but I think I am going to. Been looking at them alot recently. I have to ask, what is that last tool on the bottom? Thanks!

Never heard of that pattern, but I like it. Is is based on a Western knife pattern?

Great looking knife.

That's quite a lineup ya got there, Vince. I seem to remember another Western trapper that Reese made. I'll look around and see if I can find the images.

fespo276,you came here & its straight to the top,my friend.

Anyhow, that is a nail pull/opener tool. I think they call it a steel fingernail & is my understanding, the old cutlers made & used these during the making of knives,to aid in the wear & tear on one's fingers & fingernails

Vince your comment about Inbound Steel Necessitates now has way more significance than I imagined! That is a nice one. Congrats to you and Reese.

Vince, that is a beauty! Congrats!

Now, is it me or am I seeing a trend from you away from shadows?

Luciano,Alot of patterns of knives, I see in this thread,I try to imagine,as a shadow.
Some, obviously, would never be built like that,by Tony & Reese.

But alot of the knives I like for users, are best, for me,as a shadow,or simple & with micarta scales. I seem to enjoy the knife more & carry it,with no worries.

I'm sure there is a lot of you's Ho's ,that would use an Ivory hafted knife, built by Tony or Reese, with no hesitation.

The Ivory knife I posted this morning is a wicked slicer. I could carve a roast beef with that,at Christmas dinner

Great stuff, Vince! That new Western by Reese is just a superb looking folder. Just in time for Thanksgiving turkey!
