You never forget your first one! This is the knife that got me onto the Bose road. Thanks to John Hanlon. Tony Bose W/T acid-etched A2. Bought used, sharpened, and carried. Sent to Tony for a fluff and buff. The shadow is a great knife for every day. I haven't used any of my knives as much as this guy used his!

Hello. I frequent BladeForums pretty much daily. I feel I've learned a lot about knives. I'm 55 years old and have had/used knives since I was maybe 7/8 years old (?). I've been very fortunate to own and use many knives over the years, quite a few of them handmade from top makers.
I am fortunate to own a Tony Bose "Saddleback" with ebony. This knife was posted in this thread some time back (maybe 3 years ago). I purchased it from an online knife retailer and as best I could tell, it was unused.
I'm sitting here looking at the knife and I decided I just wanted to share my appreciation for Bose knives, especially Tony Bose (no disrespect to his son). To my eyes, it is the closest to perfection that I've ever seen. When I really examine it, I'm amazed at the design and absolutely superb fit/finish.
That's all. Thanks for reading.

Thanks for posting! It doesn't get much better then a Tony Bose.

Your first Bose is very special...Micarta Trapper was mine as well....except the Micarta didn't stay long and was replace with old bone. I can't say for sure but this may be the first keyhole shield in a Bose.

Early 440V, too. 440V is more common than old bone nowadays. Very nice, Mr. N.

I love the way this thread draws classic knives out into the open!

Beautiful knife you have there. Here is a Eureka Jack in Ebony with the same/very similar shield.

Nice knife champ.

I see you have been adding more and more bose to your collection.

I like the Reese sow belly you have.
Keep it up!

Thank you. I have. I've been bitten by the Bose bug. Their slip joints are some of the nicest I have ever had the pleasure of owning.
