Bose Knives

Pg. # 53 has two gorgeous Bose knives on it,Ed's Reese Bose 4" BP & now this Tony Bose Teardrop in stag........ Drool on .

....
I showed it to my Son & told him,in the days of old, guys carried knives like that.He really didn't reply much, but his lower jaw was hangin' down a bit
I guess he was either confused as to why I would want a knife like that,or impressed with it.It was pretty funny to see, though.

Does anyone have any info,on anyone in history/knife history, that carried one of those? Or was famous,or noted for toting a big pocketrknife like that?

Ignoring the swing guard and lock, this is a pretty standard old pattern in a fairly standard size -- back then called a fiddleback, nowadays called a cokebottle folding hunter. As I understand it, these (in their usual slipjoint construction) were very popular with the old timbermen, back when the forests were *really* forests, rather than just a patch of woods, and were carried instead of a fixed blade -- an axe and a folding hunter and these guys were ready to go. This is a 5 1/4" knife -- the grandaddy barlow is a 5" knife - and was also a very popular pattern with outdoorsmen back then (basically the standard cowboy knife as I understand).

Thanks Dwight, for that bit of info & it makes sense, too.I put that swinguard in my hand and there is plenty of handle hanging out on both ends.
Perfect size for a lumberjack.

Kerry,

Got any pictures of the stag on the other side?

I'm with Randy, I'd throw that knife right into my purse and not feel a bit bad about it.

know what...I didn't shoot the pile side for some dang reason. I must be slippin:rolleyes::o

Heck..If I could own that knife I would buy the purse with matching bra and panties...
Burn that image from your head ;)...and let Kerry take a picture..:barf:

Might be better if you didn't Randy...

I know you guys probably cried yourself to sleep the other night when I posted that last stag teardrop gents knife. I can't be held responsible for what you do when you see this knife...OK:eek::D

AMAZING Ivory on this knife with checks that really set it off. It's 3 5/8" with stainless bolsters and liners pins, ATS-34 blades and springs. You'll find more images on the Boseknives web site.

I am glad that you included a disclaimer, otherwise you would be getting a medical bill for my heart palpitations and asthma attack.

Good G-d in heaven, that is a stunning knife.

I think the BladeForum servers are driving him mad -- I can certainly empathize - been there, done that, several times.

Love that Reese Bose fixed hunter - sweet knife. It makes me want to say that he should make more fixed blades -- but then I remember that it would cut into his folder making time.

Just to let you know that the Wilfred Works is a full service operation, Reese's aunt Bonnie was told she used 10k gallons of water this month when she normally uses around 2500 gallons and that she must have a leak. The Bose men cease all operations and come to the rescue.

No question here which one of these guys is the boss and which one's the grunt. Reese is such a good nephew to cheerfully give of himself when the need arises, don'g you think. ;)
