Bose Knives

Thanks guys. I like the pile side on this Remington 1306 as much as the mark side. Will Power Will Power , you are correct Will, reblades on vintage knives are tough. Reese told me that not a single thing was straight on that old Remington, and he had to practically wrestle with it to get it back together. This was the first one he did. Of course, he saw Tony do several. The amazing part to me is the blade is perfectly centered when closed, and it locks up tight when open. The action is great. Reese said it was just luck that the blade ended up centered, but I believe it was his skill.

Reese is such a great guy. And I do believe he is the best maker going today. Kerry Hampton is right there with him. Tony and I were looking around for a good reblade candidate before he left us. Reese was kind enough to do it. And our own Charlie, waynorth waynorth , graciously offered to sell me a fantastic old 1306 that he had squirreled away. Charlie and Kerry, KnifeHead KnifeHead can correct me if I am wrong, but it seemed to me that Tony had a special fondness for old Remington knives. Tony respected them so much, that he would only do a replace if the original blade was in very poor shape. And he would only replace the blade or blades exactly as they were originally. In other words he would not make a two blade knife into a single.

Glad you are enjoying it, and that it worked out well, Greg!! All your "lore" is right as far as I understand it!! Tony was a principled guy, and Reese is in the footsteps of the Master!!

Hi all - I was gifted this knife about 25 years ago. It's a T. Bose Wilfred. I don't know much about it other than the name on the blade and thought that you guys might. It needs a repair. Not sure where I might repair it. Is there a way to find out the value of it? Thank you!

Nice old Bose knife!! Too bad about the chip. Still worth a fair bit, as it's a T. Bose.
There are several repair guys around.

If I could message you, I could tell you more!!

I hope no one takes issue with me bringing this thread back up. I want to share these two knives by Reese that I acquired last year; a 1306 and Reese’s Wilfred Hunter. I’m picky about lockbacks and the 1306 is my favorite traditional pattern. Safe to say these are incredible examples and very well done.
