Boston Art Knife Classic - The GOOD stuff!

Here is another nice picture Edmund Davidson sent me.

A panoramic view of the front of the Boston Park Plaza Hotel
that hosted Paul and Owen's Boston Classic Show...

All the best,

As I edit these images, I'll submit them to us to view. Little servings of fine rich food. :)

The above Bowie had a display case, which held the blade in place with a magnet. Cool!

Josh is capable of a traditional slipjoint as well as anyone. Ummm, maybe better...?

The Italians engravers were well represented...

More soon...

Jim, Thanks for taking the time to show us the pictures. It is much appreciated.

WOW!!!! Great work as usual, Coop. Those are some ridiculously amazing pieces!!! I guess that am getting a little better at spotting people's work because I knew that axe was a Bergh before I scrolled down to the bottom of the pic.

Here are some beautiful people at the Show photographed by Edmund Davidson,
to intermingle with the beautiful knives displayed at the show....

First, lovely Sharla Hansen as Edmund puts it: "A pretty face and fabulous
talent are always a welcome addition at any level and Sharla Hansen was just
standing there looking Great..."

And here are Barry and Lisa Davis together, after having a Great show.

And the photographically elusive Paul Shindler, captured at last by a
photographer who is a good hunter too....

Here is a nice shot by Edmund. These pictures are trickling down
all the way to Jerusalem for me to enjoy and I cannot help but
sharing them with you...

This one Edmund named "The Minds" and wrote: "Here we
have a Meeting-of-the-Minds as they examine a great knife".

Great pic, great knife, FANTASTIC engraving...that is what it is really about for me...the engraving elevates an already superb knife without calling attention to itself, and makes it a better piece for having it.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

.

I don't usually go for slip joints or Damascus for that matter, but it would be hard to resist this beautiful piece. Josh Smith is very talented and the engraving really sets it off

The Owen Wood knives are FANTASTC!!!! Congratulation Owen !!!!!!!! Thanks for the showing pics Jim and David. Ciao Tore

Thank you for the compliments on my knives. I really appreciate it.

Coop, I have to compliment you too. You did an amazing job capturing my work along with the others.

We in the knife industry are spoiled to have such amazing photography these days. Thanks so much.

Oh Yeah! So many beautiful knives and not enough money to buy them all.
Roger T., a collector from Sweden, had no such problem. He laughed at me and declared, "In Sveedun vee haf minny money." Felt like a stake right through my heart.
However, I did manage to snag this one (and two others):

Ron Newton's work is impeccable! This 5 blade sowbelly trapper features gold leafed antique Tortoise shell scales, precise Celtic knot engraved back springs embellished with 14 carat gold, a 14 carat gold escutcheon shield, damascus bolsters inlaid with 24 carat gold and a damascus blade pattern of 1095 and Swedish 15N20 that resembles whole tortoise shells. All 5 blades feature half-stops and Ron thoughtfully softened up the back springs so the blades open easily - a benefit to any gentleman who might have a touch or arthritis in his hands. It weighs in at 4.0 oz and length closed is 3 3/4 in. The knife is traditional in concept and design, handsomely dressed up and extremely easy to manipulate. I love it!
Did I mention that Ron Newton's work is impeccable? Well, duh - - it is. ;)
