BOTM March 2023 722 Spitfire w/ Black Cerakote Aluminum Handle, Black Cerakote S45VN Full Flat Drop Point w/ Green Spacer and Logo

And to be honest, I am not really a fan of Cerakote.

Edit: Maybe if they had offered the free St. Pat's Day camp mug they did a couple of years ago, I would have bitten.

I'm sure it's a quality knife, but I'm more of a traditionalist....which is one of the reasons I like Buck so much. That thing looks too much like a Spyderco, for me. Easy pass.

Every month, I enjoy the chatter leading up to the BOTM drop, and all of the differing opinions once the knife comes out. These threads are always a good read.

I like the looks of all of the wild options for Spitfires, but never enough to actually purchase one. I'll pass this month, but look forward to seeing photos.

I missed that too. When was this?

Obligatory: 765 left as I type this.

Ordered ! $15 up-charge for an S45VN blade (Compared to a 'custom' shop S35VN, G10 black - no other option on the handle for black color, which is odd because the standard issue has a black aluminum handle option). Full flat grind blade - unique to this BOTM. AND ! Green ! (Which you can also get in the custom shop, but a different color green spacer. EDIT - same color green spacer).

Plus, I just really like the Spitfire, great EDC knife. I didn't think I would like the Spitfire until I purchased the 4th of July BOTM Spitfire. Now I am a big fan. And, my favorite drinking holidays, 4th of July and St. Paddy, Thank You Buck
I'm a little slow, and didn't realize that you could get different spacers in the custom shop. I've never ordered one, but I've spent waaaay too much time playing around with the Spitfire custom-izer thingy. I wish they'd make those options available for the Budgie.

I really like the Spitfire, and this one looks cool. I already have one though, so going to pass (for now anyway)...

[Edit: I went ahead and ordered some ram and an SSD for my pc per my earlier post.]

Could not agree more! I've also learned a bunch of Buck history and info on different blade steels, shapes, etc... from the threads.

yikes... this is more of a user than a BOTM. Price is steep too since the last 722 BOTM was $85... whats with the all black knives? Lets see some ART! lol

why why why are these not g10?

100% agree. Feels like, Buck didn't have enough time ? to get the March BOTM done. So Plan B, offer another variation of the Spitfire.
they have done nice spitfire botm in the past. i honestly think they are trying to go after the EDC market. its a shame because they used to make beautiful american knives. I should say that they still do, but theyre after the Bugout crowd. I would never purchase a BO as they are overpriced and boring.
