Breaking Blade news...no BS

Yeah, they are pretty knice.

Stone washed, FFG, Eskabar pattern, and yes, the zytel handles will fit, ESEE micarta handles will need to be trimmed as usual, new sheath, non dulling, with a bit of cordage in the pack.

Don't ask me about price, because it hasn't been determined yet.

They will probably ship in March 2013 to dealers, perhaps sooner, but who knows. Oh, Kabar knows, and they won't divulge that info until they are ready to ship. First run samples are just now starting to trickle down, so, that means, once they hit production numbers, and are stored, photo'd, cataloged and dealer sheets put out, they will ship.

Be nice, and start posting up pics of you BKT's being used, and I'll see what I can do to start giving some away, here.

Are they all coming uncoated? If so, you may have swung me from "maybe" to "definitely".

What you see is what you get, from my understanding.

I think D2 is one of the best steels for the money...hands down. I love the corrosion resistance and its ability to keep an edge. I have used D2, s30v, 1095, 440c as well as other steels others back east skinning and doing all sorts of camp work. I think D2 is the best balance aswell as bang for your buck. I can't believe more people aren't going absolutely crazy over this news!!!! I honestly could not be more pumped for this news, thanks!! I'll buy enough to make up for the others until they come around!:D

What happened to the picture of this thing?

Are you gonna have this at the gathering moose?

Yes. Not sure what will happen with them, they belong to Ethan, they are not mine, until I receive one, I know not. If I get one, I do know it will be tested to its point of failure. As usual.

Moose,

Thanks for the pictures. Very nice looking knife, love the stonewashed finish. I believe this will finally be my first Becker when it is released. As long as it is reasonably priced that is ;)

What's been holding you back, so far?

You don't like 1095CV?

So you're gonna use it to teach a class?

Oh no, I like it fine. Its just I have been buying folders (3.5" to 4" blades) lately and everytime I get ready to get the 14 something else pops up. I also have the Izula which is very similar so there hasnt been a rush to get one yet (though I have been close a couple times). This one is just different/unique enough to push it to the top of the list. Now if I could just get some micarta or G10 grips made specifically for the 14 I would be really happy.

Prolly.

Tree steps to get to a deer stand. :)

Too small, it would bend or break. The smallest one I've tried so far, has been a BK7.

I wish they made the 11 in D2 as well...

If these sell well, Kabar listens, and makes adjustment. Seems the BK10 will probably be coming back into full production.

ESEE makes micarta handles that you can fit to the 14, you just need to trip a little off the insert for them to fit. We beefed up the web on the BK14.

Or you could just go with........something like this......

CamH_16,

Yes. Stay tuned. The The small BeckerHead run of special 10s went well enough that KA-BAR will be putting it in the line. Sooner rather than later.

As much as I like the 14, this doesn't really do much for me. Would rather see a new model. I feel the 1095CV is good enough.
