I found this deal on eBay and ordered one and just got it. I wanted to wait to post the deal here till I received mine and gave it a once over. Everything works great so far and can't believe it was $75 for everything. It's listed as new in the box old stock. I used it for about 2hrs today and loved every min. If your considering one of these systems now is the time to jump as these are normaly very expensive. Here is a snap shot of what I received, it's a complete setup with manuals rechargeable battery and charger as well as flow meter filters and a bag. The filters I received with mine are the FR-57 which I guess are really good. This setup is made by Racal befor 3M bought them out. My battery is dated 9-97 but filters are dated 2007. Just thought you guys would like the heads up.

As to the battery life, I'm still testing that out. I charged it for a few hrs today and got about 1-2hrs run time. Math says this battery needs to charge for 10-13hrs using the charger provided. I'm guessing it will need some cycling to bring up the capacity like most NIMH batteries.

That does look like a great deal. Does the air circulation help at all with fog up? How's visibility and overall comfort?

Ah what the heck, I just grabbed one too. If I don't like it, I'm sure somebody here will take it off my hands. :D
 
I ground for allmost 2 hrs yesterday and not a single black speck in my nose. The blower pushes nice cool air into the mask and I had zero fog. Also breathing was well easy as your not having to suck through a filter. Even if you don't like the mask you can ditch it and pick up a different style and use the air system with that. Yeah the straps on this really suck the mask down.

That's great to know. I don't even make knives (yet), but the deal was irresistable. I'm going to sell it to my wife as "Now I can use that mold-resistant paint to paint the skylight well in the bathroom instead of paying someone else with a respirator to do it!"

Looks like there were about 8 or 9 available this morning, and they're all gone now. Probably made that seller's day! hahah
If I had to wager, I'd say they were all bought by knife makers after reading this thread.

Yeah I bought mine weeks ago and was delivered. She or thy started with 10 and I bought the first one. Listing ended and a few days went by and it was reposted. So it went for a while with no bites. But yeah wake up and thy are all sold. I think why it was hard to find was it was not listed as 3M but racal. I just stumbled across it in a search I did for racal as there was another breathe easy setup that was listed as 3M but said it had a racal mask. So that sent me on a wild goose chase to figure out what or who this racal was. That's when I found out the 3M bought the resperator line from Racal in 1998 I think. The design looks unchanged even to this day. The mask that 3m provides with there's is slightly different but the blower unit and batter look the same.

^ What he said! I just picked one up as well. I went to the item as posted this morning and it was sold so I clicked on "View Sellers Other Items" and there were 2 more listings with 4 or 5 units each.
 
Also they ship fast. I got my ship notice less than two hours after I placed my order.
 
Well I did a little test tonight. Wife was cooking spicy yellow chicken curry the air burns yours eyes just walking into the kitchen. She asked for help and in I walk with this system on. And what do you know I could not smell a thing. I then took the pack off and held the filters right over the boiling pot and nothing. So I would say if it can stop spicy curry smell it can stop shop dust.

Dude... that is an amazing deal!! I LOVE mine since I got it... but I got the m-105 mask with it.

The nice thing about this mask/hat is that not only is it extremely comfortable, but it flips up like a visor if you need to grab a drink or take a call and it works w/ headphones so I can still listen to music ;)

I picked up a new battery w/ my system, and a used battery came w/ the stuff. I cycled both through deep discharge and full recharge cycles and I'm blown away how long they last. The older one is from 2007 and the new one is from 2014 but both work great.

Seriously you look like your going to war, what will the nabors think if thy see you when thy drive by. We have a huge window in the kitchen.

I do like that mask and I might upgrade to that in the future. The way o figured it, the $75 was worth it just for the battery, so if I end up ditching the mask and buying another one like yours then I'm still crazy money ahead.

I know this post has been up a little while, but I can't find more for sale from this vendor. Typical for me, day late and a $ short...:grumpy:
