Broken BK-9 Blade

Toyota trucks are made here in San Antonio... I almost got a job down there when the plant opened went through 2 stages of hiring testing, but they are on the south side and I live on the northwest side, too long of a commute..[/QUOTE
Though my thread has taken a detour I recently read something very interesting and it's a Google search away. Hands down, WITHOUT QUESTION, the Toyota was the most "American Built" truck of them all!
My Nissan Frontier was built in Smyrna Tennessee and they just opened a new plant in Mississippi.

you can't always know your "wild materials"

lots of wood has nasty, rough stuff in it.

that's why i personally think batoning is ... well ... dumb. it's dumb yo?

if you need to split wood, use the right tool ;) an hatchet, axe, fro YO!, and so on.

if you HAVE to split wood, a little chip won't slow you down in a survival situation.

if you baton for yucks, and your knife chips out, deal with it. that's normal. it's going to happen to almost everything, even an axe, sooner or later. done it.

Sometimes it takes a while for info to get processed in the dense mass between my ears, but I am coming to believe the above more and more over time.
