Brous Blades

I have had 6 Brous knives. Mini Div, Full Size Div, Dynamic, SSF, Stonewash VR71, and an Acidwash VR71 I got for my dad as a gift when it was $150 on Blade HQ. I've been supremely happy with almost all, but I have paid half of his retail prices in total. Mini Div, Full Size Div, SW VR71, SSF were all purchased either new or like new on the secondary market. i bought the AW VR71 and dynamic on Blade HQ for $350 total while both were on sale. I spent about $1000 total on what would be $2000 if I purchased all new from Blade HQ at regular price. The only knife I didn't care for was the SSF because of the ergos and odd flipping geometry made it less satisfying to flip than the other, really had to push button it. I'm down to just the large Division and dynamic now. My taste has changed and I've bought a few customs since. I'll probably part with the big Division soon but the Dynamic has a beautiful action both open and on closing and I'll be keeping it. I would highly recommend if they are still in stock on BHQ for $200-$240

My only real complaint was the lock up was too early on some of the linerlocks. Like 10-20%.

Not sure how I would feel about Brous blades had I paid full retail for all those knives though. I definitely don't think they were worth $2x what I spent.

Does a knife made in china mean something? Yes, It means it was made in China. That in and of itself is not a bad thing. Unless however you are an American knife company who claims that your products are 100% made in the USA. That IS BAD.
If your complaint is with an American company, there's no reason to mention China.

The fact that you consistently bring China (and only China) up tells me everything I need to know about your point of view. Your arguments tell me you may or may not even be aware of it.

Your ignorance is astounding. I bring up china all the time but in a positive manner. Im not speaking negatively about china in any way. Just because you have a hard time understanding anything you read and attempts to explain it to you fly over your head like 747 with no pilot doesnt mean i am in the wrong. What the hell dont you understand about this? If an american company claims its product is made in the USA and they are not but rather made in china that is wrong because they are lying about where they make their products and the law is country of origin needs to be disclosed.

It wouldnt matter if the knives were made in taiwan, indonesia, pakistan or any other country that isnt the united states. Lying about where a company makes its products is illegal. In this case it just happens to be china. Either way dont come at me because you cant read. And if can read dont come at me because you cant understand what you read. And if you CAN understand what you are reading put the bottle or bong down because something is affecting your ability to compute simple things. I have had people get mad at me for constantly defending china even when no one else will. You are the ONLY person who has EVER given me crap for being negative about China. And the reason for that is because im not negative about china. Put your tin foil hat away and sit down before you hurt yourself.

Again, if your complaint is against an American company, there is no reason to bring up China. Your complaint would include the American company. Defense of your position is simply the lady who doth protest too much.

If that american company claims they make their products in the USA yet they do not but rather have their products made in china, yes China becomes relevant to the topic and thus will be mentioned. And seriously dont quote hamlet when you struggle with understanding Dr Seuss. So for the last time genius

American company claims made in USA

American company is lying and is making their knives in China.

China becomes relevant and thus is perfectly fine to mention because that is where the so called american products are being made.

That reflects poorly on the american company not china despite you wanting to fabricate an issue out of nothing. As a fan of chinese knives have you ever seen a youtube channel that was previously called "Chinas high end EDC"? Might want to look into who that is before you try and label them.

Oh, man...

Okay, I see why you don't get it. Have a good day.

No enlighten everyone on what you meant by that comment. I guarantee you are the one who is confused. What? did it just hit you that you had the wrong person and didnt even know who you were talking to? Its that crack i tell you.

Not sure what you are having trouble understanding, my 6 year old who likes knives just read this thread and managed to understand what PURPLEDC PURPLEDC is talking about.

I honestly have no issue with metric. But the point of me saying that is 9 times out of 10. If a knife has metric hardware thr knife was probably not made in the states. And even is a knife isnt made in the states that does t make it bad. Unless of course the maker is lying about such things. Ill be honest when i saw my brous T4 to me the satin finish seemed very crkt like. And jason aluminum models look alot like crkt on the inside. And jason "liking" d2 imho is probably because 9cr18mov would give it away. Of course ill eat crow if he wants to prove me wrong. But i believe the vast majority of brous knives are made in china. Same with devilliers and a few other so called "midtechs"

Devilliers is such a scum bag you don't need to know where his knives are made, He's infamously a member of the hall of shame here on blade forums. Brous is one of those guys who unless he starts being 100% transparent with his production, he doesn't deserve the benefit of the doubt considering his past transgressions (Breaking onto the scene with other guy's designs and claiming them as his own). I wouldn't give either a dime.

Is it a 100% fact brous blades are made in China? New to blade forums. So this is the first I'm hearing about this. I know quartermaster is.

Their CS is terrible, I used to own a few of their knives but sold them after I had issues with one. I contacted cs and was told to ship it to the shop after a couple emails and a phone conversation. After they had my knife three times as long as they said it would take, I finally got my knife back after being told it had been shipped twice before it actually got shipped to me. Biggest issue? They didn't fix the problem after I had been told it would be fixed. I don't even think it has been touched. When I called in, I was told it couldn't be fixed (pivot and blade play issues). I even had stated it shouldn't be covered by warranty that I was willing to pay whatever rate was deemed fair to get my knife made right. My initial contact included detailed descriptions and pictures followed by the assurance that it would be made right. Left a bad taste, I'll never buy a Brous blade again.
