I know that. You regular posters are gents and all fantastic.
Just thought it funny when you wrote "not too bright a member"...
Reminded me of some of the stupid things I have asked here...and yet, every freakin' time, received a honest, kind, and helpful answer.
Pretty amazing for a bunch of knife knuts that have never met IRL.
Anyway, getting all poodle eyed.
Thanks for the comments and congrats Darryl...
Respect,
Goose.

Hi All,, - for what it's worth, I recently purchased a 531 Sawby from pappykacks. He is a great communicator and I got a beautiful knife promptly shipped and well packaged. VERY happy with him.

I asked him why the "privacy" thing and he indicated that someone was emailing offers to his bidders trying to undercut his auctions. This is a dirty, illegal thing to do if it was indeed happening. I have a gut feeling he may also have received some undeserved negative feedback (it happens to the best of us) and this is his way of hiding it for awhile. Personally, I think he is shooting himself in the foot by doing this because, as this thread testifies, many will shun his auctions because of it. It creates feelings of distrust with many potential bidders.

Anyway, I see some pretty harsh things being said about him and felt I should throw in my 2 cents.

'nuff said.

How do they get the email addresses??? Unless they have something on eBay for sale, eBay doesn't forward email inquiries. Even if you look up their profile, there's no way to contact them directly. And eBay does police their emails; I've had several sellers tell me they received warnings from eBay about selling outside auctions.

Still sounds fishy to me...
