Got a question - are these handles made from VALOX? Thanks, OH
Ps never owned a Buck 110 or 112 with a drop point blade, but the plastic handles seem "right" for a drop point, could be the right time for me to add one.
Titanium-nitride Wears very well. I dont think I have see any pics of it showing wear on here.It might be I don't "get" the 110, but an upscale blade steel with downscale handle materials seems odd. That said, it totally makes sense to have a lightweight knife in good steel. I guess it just clashes with my 110 expectation, which again maybe is off. The Marksman or Vantage is more my kind of Buck than the 110.
Anyway, I voted red mainly because I don't think black blades wear very well unless it's DLC, which I don't believe Buck uses. Otherwise yellow seems interesting just because why not be bold when it's nylon.
The red with drop point is growing on me.View attachment 862196 View attachment 862197 View attachment 862199
Here are a couple of renditions. I'm not sure why the drop point is so much bigger, but it does look nice. Some ideas on what this could look like!
Doesn't Buck use black oxide though?Titanium-nitride Wears very well. I dont think I have see any pics of it showing wear on here.
Depends on the knife. Cabelas versions use titanium, copper and clad versions are black oxide.Doesn't Buck use black oxide though?
so no drop point this time around? thats okay kinda wanted a yellow drop point uncoated blade with a pocket clip....be like an improved sod buster with a lock and pocket carry friendly. maybe next time.Had two samples in my hand this week. Each with clip points, one stone washed, the other satin. In my opinion, the Stonewash works the best with the overall feel. Red handles and Stone wash it is! I'm hoping to get an ETA soon from Buck. Also working on something a little special for the sheaths. Hopefully red lettering and red trim rather than the all black version. Excited for this one.
