Many of us here talk about liking the drop point over the clip. I'm the same way. I just stacked the Bass Pro 110 clip blade (cpm154 steel) on top of the SK offering with s90v steel drop point and blue micarta 110 and there is not much difference in the two. If you say, eye appeal one
over the other, -- I'd say yes, in the eye of the beholder. On that point I usually go with the drop point. In the tip strenght I'd give the drop the
nod. But in range of function I'd go with the clip point. Like in cleaning fish, digging in to tight areas & cleaning out a fin. Birds can be the same
way, cleaning a tight spot. On splinter removal it's the clip. I've dug big holes in my hand removing a splinter with a drop point. Whereas the clip would have made a smaller hole. The blades stacked look the same. Just the top removed toward the point on the clip. This creates a different point. My view/ opinion. DM

I usually opt for drop points when the opportunity is there. We waited for a long time for 110/112 drop points to be offered from Buck so now I just want all I can get I suppose. Sure do like their style as well. Doesn’t mean I don't like clips, still have plenty of those too.

Sure I understand. This is SK's topic and I'll not belabor the point. I shouldn't have wrote that. DM

I bought one drop point 110, carried it for a while, and went back to the clip. Just works better for me.

For some reason I cut myself several times using the drop point. I can't remember the last time I cut myself with a clip point 110. For reference I've been carrying a clip point 110 daily for 40 years now. I've also never broke a tip except for the very point. Mostly from it getting too pointy from sharpening the blade.

Just getting back on my feet (got sick and was laid up in the hospital a week) - cannot tell if these are ready to order or not (red handle, clip blade, red edged sheath version). Has anyone gotten one yet? OH

Hey Forum! I realized I love giveaways, and heck, let's do another one!

I'd love your thoughts and opinions on the following two knife variations of the Buck 110 Lite?

Red Handles, Clip Point CPM-154 Blade, Stonewashed Finish

-or-

Yellow Handles, Clip Point CPM-154 Blade, Black Blade and Hardware.

I will randomly draw from the pool of names created when you respond to this question. This will only be open for a few days, since we plan to get this in to Buck this week. Only one entry per user, but comment as much as you'd like.

The winner will get a free Buck 110 Lite from this run.

Let the battle begin!

Red Handles, Clip Point CPM-154 Blade, Stonewashed Finish!!! Thanks for the chance.

I kinda get the idea I'm late for the show, but I'da picked Drop Point, Red.
a lot of us wanted a drop point. maybe the next run.

be like a lockback large sodbuster sort of. prefer a sodbuster blade to the drop point.....but either works.

It's been a few weeks since we've heard anything about this project. Maybe SK can update us on the progress...the silence is deafening. Can't wait to pre-order.

I missed this thread as well. I may have missed it, but was the blade shape decided on? Not a deal breaker either way, but I would prefer a drop point to the clip point. Just personal preference.
Now to wait for the pre order.......

Post #57 shows mockups and I believe the clip point was the winner in the poll. About a month ago, SK said one of their upcoming projects is:
-Buck 110 Lite
-CPM-154 Blade Steel
-Red Handles
-Stonewashed Blade
-Clip Point
-Special Red and Black Nylon Sheath exclusive for SK and this knife

Sounds awesome!
