??Buck 110 Release Tomorrow (01/10/2022)??

BP_ This will always hold its value and you will never have a problem letting it go to a new owner. Already blades are being pulled to install in other 110's and of course quite a few will get new handles and other Custom work. It's about the lowest cost knife of any kind in this steel and will always be of interest to the many 110 collectors out there . I'm sure you have many users and frankly Bucks good old 420 will do for most people so the big draw will be as a collectable 110. I can't see Buck making a bunch of LE's different runs or offering it in the Custom shop so at least for a while this is it if you want a Buck in MagnaCut.

I got a very nice October BOTM 301, a lot of other people didn't. This is a niche hobbyist/collector forum where people are naturally going to discuss the good and the bad. what percent of overall knife owners post here? one half of one percent? amazing that you can't talk about an issue on a 1000 special run knife without being told you're poopooing a thread or brand lmao
"Bad news travels fast." Lol

Wow, this is incredible.

It seems most recognize this knife for what it is, a standard 110 with an experimental blade. The 110 is not a showpiece, you can't expect perfect blade centering, or a little unpolished area to get special attention. An area that is never polished to begin with.

But...

There's a vocal minority that is determined to make this knife something it was never meant to be. This project probably began as an experiment. What do we do now? Heck, put them on the website at a modest price and see what happens. I'll tell you what happens, Buck will get fed up with the silly whiney butts and we won't see any more of these little treats.

Get a grip, guys! It's a hundred dollar knife. In this day and age that's peanuts, especially considering that these are made in the USA and at their core really nice knives.
I've got a couple. The way I see it, is that magnacut will be just as standard as s30 or 35 or 45... I bought 2 because I have 2 sons, and these are the first 1000 buck ran in magnacut. They arrived today. I looked at them. They went back in the box. I'll complain anout the finer things when magnacut is more of a standard metal like 30 or 35. Would definitely give one to someone who who has an extra blue lucite 212, knowing I'd have to put some cash up with it.

The internet panic, I can attest to that one.
Being slow and then deemed unworthy has it's benefits.
I finished up the "normal" 110 collection with the finger groove model and got the Frank Zappa box set I'd left in my Amazon cart.
Also cut my thumb with a Ranger TRX but that's another story. That thing has it out for me.
For a minute I was super concerned I missed a Buck/Zappa collaboration...

That’s interesting … did they make all 1,000 of these in the nine business days of 2023? I wonder when it’s considered “done” to stamp.
I visited the Smith and Wesson factory in Springfield, MA and the tour was somewhat depressing. Lead by a former employee, he explained how in his time the plant was busy with employees. Before he retired, they had a few guys, running 6 machines each... honestly don't think it takes them too long to turn out 1000 of their most popular knife.

I feel like a lot of people are paying a working man's price for a working man's knife and getting upset that it's not a premium display piece worthy of its own glass case in their finely adorned study where it shall ne'er see the toil of the common laborer.
Workmen enjoy quality... it doesn't need to be Platinum plated, it needs to be designed and made properly, and work effectively for its expected life... otherwise you can expect workmen to kick it to the curb.

I got mine today. It looks like a 10-year old ground the bevel (no offense to 10-year olds). Other than that, the blade is perfectly centered and, following the obligatory flush, it's smooth as butter and has a really nice snap. I'm a new Buck collector and this is my first 110 and probably won't be my last. I feel fortunate that my first one is in magnacut and will carry it in its sheath on my belt and put it to use every day cutting hay bale ties, opening bags of horse feed, cutting rope, food prep, Etc. I'll use it the way a buck is meant to be used and try not to ocd over that bevel, but my goodness I think they can do better than that.

Personally I'm pretty darn happy it was a premium blade on a standard 110. It feels more honest IMO.

Had I picked one up the grind marks in the lock wouldn't have phased me (they exist on my 50th anniversary too) and it would have cleaned deer and antelope just the same.
