??Buck 110 Release Tomorrow (01/10/2022)??

Yes there’s a great bunch of people here. I sure appreciate you guys. It’s been about 2 months now since I returned to work and my heart is doing well, I’m getting back to the grind. Lol. I have an appointment tomorrow to see what the Doc thinks.
yes Sir. glad you're doing a lot better. thats some great news there.

This is the first 110 I have bought in years..I got a free LT from Buck when I bought a fancy 112 and I remember getting the 110 'Racer' ar a web special. I did buy a 2007 111 club knife. It will be my new desk Buck!

Is there anything scalpers wont try to ruin? Someone has 6 for sale on the bay for $300+ with shipping. Not sure if a screenshot of ebay listing is ok with the rules.

Wonder how many went to scalpers looking to double their money? If you find it as unpalatable as I do then make it a point never to buy at these ridiculous markups. The only way people will stop this is if the market dries up and they are left holding the bag.

They've allowed "Make Offer", so why not offer $139.99. If they get inundated with offers for that amount, they might get the message. You could also ask to see photos of the actual knives they're selling - bet they can't produce any.

I do regret hesitating on this one, but in the long term I probably won't regret it that much.

These releases kill me. The ones where something goes into production and everyone can get it, obviously not a problem. Something I know will be super limited, I get it, because I know I'll have to be super fast and decide ahead of time and get lucky, and if I don't get lucky, well, I knew that was the likely outcome. But releases like this where there were a thousand pieces, I didn't know about it ahead of time, they were in-stock all day with no way to know how fast they were selling, and I couldn't decide if I wanted it enough to shell out cash or not? That's where I waffle and then by the time I decide they're out of stock.

I did get the Hogue Ritter RSK in MagnaCut and carbon fiber, even though that was a similar impulse purchase, and I'm sure glad of that one.

The bone stock Buck 110 in 420hc is all the knife anyone would practically ever need.

If for some reason you wore one out, then you could pick up another one and still be under the price of this release. These limited releases are just for fun, not a matter of life or death, your current knives which have been serving you well will continue to do so. The modern super steels are great but I keep finding myself carrying 1095, 420hc, and S30v and being quite happy with them. Got two of the magnacut blades on the way, one to use and one just in case I find out how wrong I am and this is truly life changing and need a backup. :)

I managed to avoid buying one and now they're all sold out so I think I'm safe from my impulses for now....until one comes up on the exchange in a week or two 😅 I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a BOTM with G10, nickel bolsters and magnacut.

I'm also thinking one of the reasons they sold out so fast is actually because of Buck not limiting the number customers were able to buy, so I'd be curious to know how many got bought specifically for the secondary market.

Larrin Larrin Buck says they are targeting 59-61RHC for these blades, any insight as to why they would of chosen this range when other makers seem to be running them a little harder?
Any performance trades being made here, like trading edge retention for toughness?
Thanks in advance, really cool you participate on these forums.

I didn't help with the heat treatment so I can't comment on the decisions they made or why.

Since some are relaying their motivation for the 110 Magnacut I’ll chime in. My collection basically started with a 110 back in 74. It was a graduation gift. The new 110 will sort of bookend my collection. Not saying I’ll never buy another knife, but I plan to redirect more of my disposable income toward travel and my vintage motorbikes. Also my first 110 a milestone, graduation. The new 110 another milestone, retirement (January 1) from 40 plus years in the chemical industry.

I snoozed, I losed.
I figure I have 5 110s already, a custom one is on order and that should be enough for several lifetimes.
I ordered a Sprint Ops Pro with a black blade to do my part to help keep the economy going (and because I wanted one, ha ha).
