BUCK 110's for $23.00

I bought 2 of the 110's in the Tin last week at Waldo world. $23.99 each. They had a bunch at the ones in Memphis.

Oh, great site. This is my first post here.

Welcome!! Contribute often! And enjoy the knives.

Welcome to th eForum Hoss!!

I was in Wally yesterday for some other things and looked at the 110's in the tin. Didn't buy one because of all of the ones from Academy I bought.

But there was this nice looking lady looking at the regular knife display and I could tell she was looking for something special. I asked her if she was looking for the 110. She said yes, for her son, so I directed her around to the other side where they had them semi buried in a display counter.

What a Mom! Of course I also told her about Academy's sale. I suspect that her son may get more than one for Christmas.

You would have done the same if you would have seen what this Babe looked like! But then I help old ladies, young ladies, and old codgers load stuff in their vehicles at Wally, or anywhere, too...

and no, I don't work there.

nuff said about that....

Forget Walmart. As many Bucks as you bought, I thought you might be getting kickbacks from Buck or Academy. :p

Maybe I will hit them up about that! The safe does runneth over... and I haven't even mentioned some of the others  I have this problem of buying knives but rarely ever just one.
Yup, an addict... 2 customs, 3 alaskan 110's, 2 alaskan rubber handeled Vanguards, 4 alaskan wood handeled vanguards, not to mention what I got at the Buck booth at the Houston NRA convention.
amongst others,,, :o

Hello, my name is Larry, and I am a knife addict.

I hear Buck Fever is chronic and contagious. Be warned.

   ...Just couldn't stand it any more...Been looking at and reading about all kinds of 110's on various threads in the forum tonight...I just ran out to my local "Wallyworld" and picked up three (3) more of those tinned 110's...sheesh...you'd think I'd have enough of them around by now. Tonight they were $19.87...Oh well, one each to each of my sons-in-law...and , oh oh...I got one left... ...don't feel like runnin' back out in the cold weather of Florida, might as well keep it fer myself...heh heh heh...:rolleyes: :D

Picked up 2 last night for my son and I. Still might go back and get another one. My reasoning is very similar to DarrylS's.:D Why have just one though at that price? A second may prove to be useful. They certainly are some hog size folders.

This is the best knife deal out in the US marketplace right now. The knife I kept for myself is so sharp out of the box that when I took it out, the hair on my arm started to fall out before I opened it up...sheesh...Someone at Buck was in a special mood when they worked on this one.

Good opportunity to try Buck's ATS-34 and BG-42 at these prices. A "semi-custom" if you will for only $55--$20 Buck plus $35 blade swap. If you think Buck gets a lot out of their 420HC with the Bos heat treat, wait till you try the two "premium" steels.

I now have a couple for myself and a couple for my son! There is no better deal than this on the 110's or any other american made lock back. Heck overseas metal and wood or knives as they call them cost more than these!

I went back to chi-mart tonight and bought another 110 for $20.00 on close out. (I just HAD to) :D
I now have 3 to keep & 3 I gave away. I was thinking about sending one to the Buck Custom shop. Can someone tell me what the BG-42 steel? I have several knives with ATS-34 steel, (Al Mar, Benchmade, and others), and it is great steel. What are the characteristics of the BG-42 steel? How does it hold up in the field? What are it's strengths & what are it's weaknesses?

Thanks,
Dale

I stopped at one of our Walmart's last night & they still had 25 of the 110 Commemorative tin sets. I see a Clearance sale in my future. :D

I finally got to my local Wal*Mart. They never got any of 'em, or at least they don't know they have them (and they're nowhere to be found on the floor).

Pjsjr, thanks for the link.
I just talked to the the Buck office and their factory tours are closed for the holidays but the store is open and I can leave a 110 there for their Custom Shop. So I think I will be stopping in Post Falls this weekend. :D

Send me a PM if you want me to pick one up for you. Whatever the current price is w/tax + shipping by Priority mail. ($3.85 I think)
