BUCK 2022 112 Leagacy Tribute

I'll pass on the Legacy model, but will be getting a 50th Anniversary model for the collection...

As the Legacy models will be made for the calendar year not a target quantity, you have some time to decide to buy one or not (except for the Tribute 112 at 1000 total). I'll pass as I can still buy the original at a fraction of that price. 440 steel is not that hard to work with.

Thanks Jeff I totally missed that, but as I'm not going to get one it does not affect me. The resellers will buy up the lions share and control the value point at $880 each...LOL.

It's always a tough decision on what pricey new 112 to get..Some that have a limited run AND seem reasonably priced for the materials used sell out quickly and are never offered for less than MSRP..Get that knife quickly..
Bucksway, a you planning to get one? is it MUST HAVE for 112 collectors,

Zipppo123 a BG42 112 is a must have or numbered Old Custom shop knifes..to me. I DID get the Carbon fiber LE you sent me the link for! Because the sale price of $89.00 on a MSRP of $150.00 for a 112 in S30V and as far as I know the only 'factory' Carbon fiber handles (that could be taken apart lol) WAS worth reaching for now ..I'm very carful what I spend so I stay out of Buck Jail..

A serious question of all collectors,,,,,BUCK or anything…what is the end game goal?
Something I ponder a lot…especially about getting the NEW 112 Tribute model…

I am working with a collector that is older and retired and is liquidating his 200 knife collection over 25 years because of health concerns….and yes, I have made some wonderful additions to my collection from his stockpile, and plan to buy more as money permits…a really nice man to deal with….

But is that the endgame goal? To build a great collection and then, as nature takes its course, for all of us,
someday sell off everything you acquired, and loved, and enjoyed. ( especially if your kids are not into it).

I wrestle with this a lot, at 68 years old…asking, what is the point in getting more stuff….who really wants it and will appreciate it when I am no longer here.

My situation is similar but I'm only 60 years old. Nobody on either side of the family will appreciate or want my knives after I'm gone. We don't have any kids and my wife will only want to keep the knives that were in my pocket when I croaked. She will let the others go for ridiculously low prices because she will just want them gone.

Many times I have thought about selling all but a handful of my knives but I just can't do it because it would also mean that I resolve not to buy any more. I like them too much even though I know that nobody will ever benefit from them except me. It's difficult knowing that all this money I have tied up in my collection will basically go to waste but I can't seem to move them on while I've still got the chance.

most people, not all...plan on passing to their kids and grandkids etc. problem is many will sell them off....they want the cash and less want grandpas knife collection worth x amount. sounds awful I know but let's be honest. some are different its not a one size fits all deal, but assuming they'll want our stuff aint always gonna be accurate.

I plan on letting my boy grab what he wants before im dead....and selling off rest as my time here comes to an end. if i die before I finish liquidating, its the boys problem to deal with.😁 thats my plan.

So who here is buying a Legacy 112 through Larry Oden???

I need an enabler……..if others are sinking their money on this knife….maybe I will. Going to be about the same price as the buck BOTM koa was ( $250) or a bit more thru Larry. I am not doing this alone.

Its a difficult choice, if you are collecting 112 varients and editions, which I am, how do you pass this up? it might become the holy grail of 112’s. Do you just get the cheap 50th logo one and say screw this expensive. replica and be happy with that?
