BUCK 2022 112 Leagacy Tribute

It's been a while since I posted and hope everyone is doing good, This is one I have been looking forward to I have all three variations of the micarta 112, but $361.99 i'm going to pass, If sales are slow maybe they will lower the price, or have some factory blemishes at a discount .

I havent decided what I am going to do with the Tribute model. I was planning on getting it, but with you all, the price is definitely the reason why I have stepped back my enthusiasm. I have ordered all the other 112's and will wait and see. I am really looking forward to the 112 Sport.
Honestly, I wouldnt be surprised if I just go ahead and order it one day and forget about the cost.

I just looked at some pictures of one a poster on Facebook took. Biggest news to me is that it has a stainless steel spacer instead of a brass version like a true V1-V1 has. Also a small billboard on the back of the blade along with a BOS 440C etch. Nice packaging too. I doubt it's possible to make one now with a brass spacer. I have the feeling this 112 is always going to be controversial. Mainly because of the price. I'm seriously going to consider a auto conversion when I eventually add this to my collection..

Nah…not worth it for me…price is way out there for what you are getting
nothing special to look at……
not even an exact replica of the original, stainless spacer
150 or 175 I might have bought it.
picture credit….photo from BCCI facebook page that someone posted. I do not own this.

I paid $50 bucks for this two weeks ago and used a little brass polish…1975 ebony
good enough for me, ha !

If Buck ends up making less than 500 of these it could be a sleeper like the D-2 Lil'Jack ..Price aside it IS a cool 112. Simply because it's controversial now because of the price it is going to be notable 112 in the history of the 112. I've decided when I get one I'm going to have the bolsters engraved, keep the micarta handles and have a old time auto conversion along with the blade mirror polished. THEN it will fit my collection quite nicely..

I am such hypocrite

I just ordered one from Larry Oden…
in the end, I gave in

I'm thinking that for the price, with a little patience you could find a nice, original Buck 112 of the vintage it's commemorating and have some cash left over.

yes, and I did locate one new in box, $230. But if you collect 112,s. and let this slip by, I might regret it. Plus Larry‘s pricing makes it eeasier to swallow.

Get both!
sold $250 of my non buck knives this morning so I almost paid for it. I would like to know if anyone else here bought one…..
have a pretty decent used 1972 micarter steel spacer arriving today… paid $100 bucks ….then I will send for spa treatment.

With the cost of the s30v g10 version, I cannot justify this. I think it might be more for those that find the original to be of sentimental value?

Even though Buck is now selling/making a LOT more 112 LE's and SFO's starting around 2014 if you like special 112's there's not that many. Especially compared to 110's. I'm glad to see this one and will will get it eventually. For mostbuyers I'm sure it will be held and admired possibly displayed as few collectors will take a $425.00 MSRP Buck of any kind and give it hard use. Some will of course! 440 is tough! Micarta is tough too so it will make a good EDC. I'm 'guessing' the high cost might keep sales down to under a 1,000 but really don't know if that can/would happen.
