Buck Custom 110 finally arrived!

Trax
It is Sambar stag. I really liked the coloring on Mike K's e-bay 4 dot 110. Rich and warm. I like mine also, the more I'm with it, I just like stag, some more than others.

That white material on cutting boards from WW is really soft, I just tested mine and can scratch it with my thumbnail:eek:. Maybe if 'n your going to go to the effort of doing that you would want something more durable or maybe not JM2C. Preston

to jump in on this thread i was told by leroy reamer [former buck custom man] that sanbar stag is much denser then elk (american stag) and lots denser then white tail antler !! that you can actuley feel the weight diffrence in equal size parts of american stag vs sambar stag and i think that higher density = better lasting color change and less shrinkage thus less crackage ! he said he did not recomend using the nice narly antler i sent for some work for that very reason!!

yess all stag is antler and is a form of hair proteen which is also hoof/nail material...

i tryed to scrimshaw antler and bone both several times and it jest does NOT work at all due to the very poriurs nature of the material it ends up with gray snowy like dots from the ink!

hay pjsjr email me -> a334dave@yahoo.com if you please! i want to ask you something off the forum!

BG42, FG, Oak, NS, serrated, pins and a nylon sheath. My initials are on the front bolster. It is a real beaut. The finish is as good as any knife I own and really it doesn't look like any other 110 I've ever seen. I'll send a picture after christmas. I am giving the wife a digital camera.

but she is not a knife nut. She leaves that all to me.

Watch out, Will...they can be devious creatures...especially at Christmas... :D

Hey! You anywhere near John Clare's motorcycle shop???

but I'll drive past it going home tonight. Claire's is on Hwy 20 and I could hit Hwy 20 with my bow from my front yard. We are about 5 miles apart.

Please don't. :D

I've been meaning to visit the shop and area and see if the chicken coop Red and I were rooting around in still has that N-15 I was looking at... ;)

Fascinating place, Fonthill...Guys shooting trap over a chicken coop full of junked motorcycles...and chickens...and one slightly crazy Yank looking for Norton parts...

Just got an email that my customs have been shipped. Will be interesting to see what sheaths I get.

Whew,,,finally on their way...

I just got an emial that the one I ordered on November 17 shipped. I think it's a nice touch that they let you know that it's on its way so you can figure out when to expect it. Kinda wished they'd give you the UPS tracking number though.

How about it trax. What am I doing wrong?

Will -

Sign in to your PhotoBucket page. Put an "X" in the box next to the pic name. Go down to the bottom of the page. In the menu box there, select "Generate IMG and HTML code" or something similar. When the next page opens, go down to the 3rd selection "IMG clickable thumbnails", copy the text, and paste it into your post. ;)

Let's see...maybe I can hack into your account... ;)

Huh! That works pretty good!

Hey WillTheBarb -

What is that ugly looking [:D ] exposed rivet 110 with the lanyard hole???

I like the one on the far left...too bad we can't get a horizontal pic of that wild bunch... ;) :)

The one on the left is a Grohmann Hunter, a Canadian made knife. The 'ugly' one is a Puma General, really a nice knife but it would be easier to see if you had it in your hand.

The second is a Sambar with the "bark" left on -

Hey! Quit filching my pics!!! :D (Hmmm...the sticker fell off the box since I posted this...wonder where it went???)

It's a Japanese Parker...they mis-spell Sambar quite often...This thing is a monster...6" closed; 11" opened...

yea i saw that Chattanooga Tn, on the blade.....(all my Parkers say Alabama, USA).....so the blades get sent to wherever...and then they are assembled?
