Buckles and blades

A page or 2 back my Friend Harry posted so Very  Case buckles and sent me a note asking if I could use one! I told him How Much I Appreciated his gesture and offer but that I only wear two buckles and promised him I would post them in this thread and that he would understand my declining his Generosity then.
Of the dozen or so buckles I have won I only have two now, the very 1st one I won and this one.
They don't call em "Buckle Bunnies" for nothin!!! ;):D I didn't even know I still had this buckle till the ex split in 2012 and took ALL her stuff! Hence it still looks quite new!:D Unlike my other buckle that you can't even see the engraving any longer! :( Oh well...a TON of memories in that one! Just like a couple of pocketknives I have managed to hang on to!:)
Once again Hitched Horsehair belt and an IXL Equestrian Beauty!:D

BEST POST IN THIS THREAD PERIOD!!! Love it Dave:thumbsup: I knew there was something a bit crazy yet special about ya when we met at the Rendezvous;):D Back in my fighting days it was a Bull Riding Cowboy 20 miles south of town that dropped my like a ton of bricks, there's more to the story (Duncan knows about it though):D

Cool buckle! What's its story?

Thanks! I bought this on the belt at a vintage store in Atlanta. I went in there to buy a pair of plaid bell-bottom-ish pants to wear for a video shoot at Coca Cola, and I needed a belt to go with them. The gal in the shop liked that belt, and so did I. For a while, that was the only pair of pants I had with loops that would accommodate the wide belt, though, so it mostly just hung there and I used it as a strop. Many times I thought, I should get rid of this thing or try and resell it. But I didn't because it made a really nice strop. Anyhow, this year, I started wearing a different brand of jeans, and low and behold, the belt fits the loops! So I wear that belt now every time I wear my jeans. Sometimes still use it as a strop. But I'm just happy to be able to wear it, because it's got a rockin' buckle.

Thank You Harry, TAH and Paul !:) I'm very grateful to have the two I still have, back in the day they were cool to win but mean more to me now then back then. Every time they bring back memories and Friends from a time when life was just a little more Wild!!:D

Dave
Dave my friend , I hope you take this in the good way that it is intended .
I can not imagine you as ever being Wild . I do however imagine you as Yosemite Sam when you have your big hat on .
Are we going to get some pictures from the Oregon Show this year from you ??? Those are always great to see .

Harry

It will be my pleasure to take plenty of pictures Harry!!:D I also enjoy looking back at them, the show goes by SO fast!!
We were all wilder back when we were younger Harry!! I forget who's signature it is here on the forum that says, "Good judgment comes from experience and a lot of that comes from bad judgment"!! SO Very true!;):D I always figured, live fast, die young and leave a good looking corpse, when I was younger. If I had known I was gonna live this long I might'a taken better care of myself.:D

Paul!!! Everyday you saw me I wore that buckle!!! I'm Very glad I didn't know you back in the fightin days Paul! You're just to BIG!!!!!
I always figured I was like a Terrier dog.....not very big but not afraid of much!:p So I usually got my ass kicked!!:(;)
Think I'll ask Duncan! His version will be better I'm thinkin!:D

Knife content!!:D

The sap is up, so I can start wearing this one. (I bought it last Fall, and thought it would be bad magic for an old man to wear a leaf device in the season leaves wither and die.)

There's some stunning leather and metal work in this thread  the like of which we just don't see here in the UK. Nowhere near as impressive as some of the stuff posted but I picked this buckle up whilst on a holiday in the US nearly 30 years ago.

While back had to do some oak carving. Hadn't done much in 15-20 years or so as its popularity kind of died out. Its making a comeback though recently.

On the end of one of those oak belts is one of the coolest custom buckle sets I've ever got to work with.

Me too, Dave. Love to see the shop. Here is one of the buckles I keep on my desk of my grandfathers. The other is fancy like the one you show.
This one is silver and stamped on the other side. No rings with this one. I 'll dig out the other. I left the tarnish on both.

I may have posted these first two buckles before, but now I've got a belt to put them on and can wear them
The BTS brass steer buckle was my grandmother's ( it's my favorite and worn almost everyday now ), and the siskiyou CALIFORNIA buckle from my dad.

This one which I can't identify came on the belt which I picked up at Goodwill about a month ago( American made top grain leather )
It's got some kind of simbol that looks like a bear or lion or something.

This last one was my grandfathers, but I don't have a small enough belt for it that fits me ( his belt won't fit me )
