Budget Scandis (Moras,Brusletto,Marttiini pics)

Love the Scandi's. Nice pics. The hot dog one did make me cringe a little.

How's the 521 fit in the hand? How's the handle? I have big mits...I'm concerned that the handle will be too small. I've been looking to get a few.

If you do get the 521 but the handle isn't as big as you'd like it, then try wrapping it with 550 cord like I did on my 510, it really bulks up the handle. The handle is nice as is, but the cord wrap really makes it comfortable and fills your hand well. I just wish I had done it sooner, but you will have to make or buy a different sheath for it, because it won't fit in the factory sheath with the wrap unfortunately.

Expecting a 521,711 and #2 1/2 any day now. I just wish I can get it all brown and burned looking like SporK.
 
Ditto what Fiddleback said! I wish I had the chance to use my blades half as much as you, and yes, it is nice to see the lady again too!

Well, my 510 arrived today and I love it! For me, the clipper handle doesn't offer as many grip options (at least not comfortably). The upside for the clipper is the nice feel that rubber handle has in the winter months.

Anyway, the 510 has a great, albeit different feel, and a narrow blade. I'm glad it doesn't have a finger guard, and it sure came razor sharp. I think it will soon become a favourite.

It's easy to say it's a great knife for the price, but I think it is a great knife, period.
 
By the way, the sheath picture that Salamander 42 showed: I have a pair of wool workpants with buttons for suspenders. The snap fitting of the 510 sheath fits on those buttons, too, and places the knife off to the side. Another great design option from the Scandanavians.
 
I came home today and in the mail I had my first Mora's, a 2000 and a 780, waiting for me from Ragnar. I can tell I'm really gonna like these! I was really surprised at how sharp they were out of the box for what I paid.

I think I've just been "Mora-lized" and I'm gonna have to get more.:D
 
I just ordered the Mora in the pic and the 510 from Ragnar. My M2K is my favorite knife though.
