I ordered a MPK ti 12" for $349 form CA based company called " Botach Tactical" in Nov. 10 .00. I had received it in Nov.16.00. As soon as I received it, I found out this knife was a shorter version 10 "of MPK -TI, it was not what I saw in their AD( since B/T only carried one model of MPK-TI 12", how could it possible sent me the wrong item, I do belived that they tried to fool me with cheaper model ( I knew also CA based " Triple August Design " they sell MPK TI 10 " for only $ 300).
Human error is possible, I returned the knife soon next day Nov,17. 00. by 3 days insured mail. I received an apology from B/T 's customer serive by e-mail in Nov.25.00 . They said that they do have the correct model and will send it to me for exchange before Dec.10. 00. as I requst. but now is close to the date line, nothing has been done. I sent several e-mails to them, got no answer at all. I tried to called their customer service, only answer machine, fine! left message three times a day, I found out the customer service is death, then I tried their GOVT. LE hot line, the answer is death too.
I had inform B/T that I 'm going move oversea in end of Dec, I told them if they can not gave me exchange should refund me ASAFP, I have no doubt that in the end I may got no knife and no money back, this is F$%king rip-off!

I'm sorry that another person had to go throught their customer service nightmare. I think if you do a search, you'll see that you're not alone. In the end I didn't loose any money...just hours of time I could have spent at work!

I think people have filed complaints with their BBB.

If you feel they ripped you off, you are making a conclusion that they have the brains to figure out how to rip you off. Believe me this is not the case. They are inept and unprofessional and at times down right stupid. I don't think you will be ripped off though. Call them and hoot and holler. They are complete morons. They will eventually set the order straight.

Botach is one of those companies that keeps little in stock and gladly takes your orders. Unlike other businesses, they will charge your credit card and wait until they have enough of the like item ordered so they can get a quantity discount. All the while, they will sit on your money and collect the interest. I had the same problem with a Trijicon sight. Called them, they said it was in stock, ordered it. Then it does not arrive. A call tells me that it is out of stock and Trijicon is out of stock. One month later...still nothing. I called Trijicon and found out they had never been out of stock. After many dead end calls and emails, I got thru to someone who could barely speak English. I threatened everything including driving from OH to CA for a forcible refund. Two weeks later, they credited my card. They are scum...and I wonder how they can still suck people in with orders.

Man, I thought that first post seemed harsh, but it seems this company has a reputation for this kind of crap. Get 'em boys!

Thanks for your comment! some people said " B/T is nothing but trouble". I found out it now! SUXXXXXXXX!

Botach's poor customer service has been a boon to my business. I don't come here real often, as most of my business comes from AR15.com. But I do sell many brands of knives at excellent prices, as well as my law enforcement and tactical equipment. I have picked up many unsatisfied Botach customers due to their very questionable business tactics. I sell Benchmade, Emerson, Cold Steel, Spyderco, CRKT, and many other lines. I don't BS anyone. If I don't have it, I'll tell you. I'll also tell you when I expect to have it. Drop me an email for prices. Thanks!

When it rains it pours...

This is the second post I've seen concerning them, not sure where the other one was though, but the consensus was the same.

I finally got the answer this morning, after I gave them a lot of pressure, they said will sent me the knife this week, let's see what happen!

And the problems continue...

A year ago I ordered night sights for my Glock and was sent night sights for a Colt AR15. I sent the Colt sights back after being assured that the correct sights were boxed, addressed, and waiting for the returned Colt sights to arrive. Two weeks later, no sights. Several calls to an answering machine that at times was so full it wouldn't allow anymore messages. Several e-mails were sent and ignored. Finally I spoke with a customer service rep that spoke VERY broken English and didn't know what night sights were.

I finally had to beef the company via my credit card company dispute process and that prompted a phone call from a supervisor at Botach who blamed the whole incident on "growing pains" and a bad batch of employees that have since been fired. I refused to do anymore business with them and the credit card company forced them to credit my account.

I learned at a posting at The Firing Line that Botach is actually run out of a pawn shop in central LA and that they have very little inventory on premises.

I would like to think that things have improved over a year ago, but from the posts above, obviously not.

Buyer beware...if the price is too good to be true, it probably is. If you must deal with them, ALWAYS use a credit card and not your debit card.

Unfortunately, a friend with whom I provided Botachs web site to, is having some problems as well. He returned 2 Peltor Tactical 6 hearing protectors after discovering that neither protected very well. In fact one did not protect at all! He found out the LOUD way! Kaboom! His head went pounding. He referred back to the instructions to make sure that it did not read as amplifying the gunshot rather than muffling it! The other had partial protection as it went from one headphone to the other. Musical ear protectors. Want to play?

He sent them back and they told him if he wanted replacements that he would need to pay additional since sale prices were no longer effective!

Well I have had two bad experiences with Botach. Once, a while back I ordered a 9P and they double-charged my debit card causing me to bounce some checks. I had a hell of a time getting the money back, I even had to go through my bank to get anything done. FINALLY, after much time and effort I received the refund, but grudgingly with no apology.

Then on Dec. 1 I ordered a SureFire 8NX from Botach. It turns out that they did not call UPS to pick up my order until Dec. 5. Then when Botach finally sent me a tracking number and a receipt showing that the light had been shipped, I thought it was. The UPS tracking site showed an arrival date of Dec. 11. That day passed and so just today Dec. 15, I called UPS to see what the deal was. UPS says that when a "Pickup Manifest" is received a tracking number is issued. It turns out that the item even though it was ordered on Dec. 1 and given a tracking number on Dec. 5, it was not actually shipped until Dec. 12. That means that it was actually shipped THE DAY AFTER IT WAS SUPPOSED TO ARRIVE. It is now scheduled to arrive Dec. 18, 17 days after it was ordered. Giving orders a tracking number before they are shipped is a bad idea and UPS should stop doing this IMO.

I ordered early because I knew that this may happen and it is a Christmas present. I have had a bad experience before with Botach and I took my chances this time knowing the risk. With their prices it is hard to resist buying from them. I guess you just have to weigh the price vs. the reliability and the chance that your order will be botched. In my case I was willing to risk it and if my order comes before Christmas I guess it was worth it. But if you need something to be delivered promptly for a holiday or birthday, order early and pray, or order from one of the other reputable dealers listed here in TG,TB,TU forum. I would suggest Tim Flanagan at Nor'east Knives. I have found him to be extremely reliable and prompt with shipments and he uses USPS which IMO is more reliable and undoubtedly cheaper. You can contact him by email at noreastknives@bigfoot.com . Just tell him what you are interested in and he will get back to you with prices and such.

Sorry about the confusion

Hey they ain't given stuff away, after hearing all this, you have to be stupid to order from them again and again. This is why they continue to stay in business, please stop giving them your business to save a few lousy bucks.

I made an order late last Friday with them. (Hadn't read this post yet..) Got no email confirmation on my order. Emailed them asking if they got my order and got no response. Got a message in very broken English on Sunday saying some items were out of stock. Called them back and changed colors to ones that were in stock. Everything is set: order will go out on Monday. Get another call 2 hours later from the guy that called my answering machine. He had no record of my conversation correcting my order. I straighten out the order with him and he tells me it will go out on Monday. Whew... Lot of work... But then the same guy calls me back 15 minutes later saying that another item was out of stock!!! I change colors on that one too....

This has taken a lot of work by this point, but I have a tracking number from them that tells me that a package DID go out on Monday, as promised. It is due here on Monday 12-18. I'll report it's contents....

Hey Bucky,

In addition to Botach, let me add bigfoot.com as a bad deal. When you try to go to Nor East Knives at the address you cited, it doesn't take you to their site. When you use Nor East Knives as the search parameter, it takes you to Youkon Knives. This guy needs a new web host.

Just as a clarification, it's not a website- it's just my email. I've had it there for over 4 years and don't want to confuse old and new customers and friends with a new email. I'll get around to a website one of these days (as I've been saying for years). Thanks for the recommendation Bucky.

My two orders have both arrived on time! And as far as price, anyone ever remember seeing Photon II Micro-Lights for $9.95??
http://botachtactical.com/micolights.html
That's quite a bit cheaper than I have ever paid.

Sorry that some have had bad luck. (I thought they could improve their communication skills...) But they have done just fine with me ... so far!
