Bull****( botach) tactical - SUX! F@#K!

Placed an order for an Emerson Commander Yesterday, got it today. I asked them if they had it in stock at least 10 times to make sure that they had it. Delivered as promised. Maybe I just lucked out.
 
Ordered two different orders last weekend at different times. Called them on New Years day and got the owner: "BK". Nice guy.

He told me it was too late to combine my orders, as they were already packed. I was being charged $4.00 and $8.00 shipping.... Before I even asked, BK told me he was going to credit me the $8.00 shipping charge!! He could have thrown me the $4.00 and I would have been happy. This is good customer service in my book. Their prices on Pelican lights and Photon lights can't be beat. Also the cheapest Leatherman Pulse I could find pre-Xmas.

I'm a happy (repeat) Botach customer!!!

This is a good streak for Botach! I hope they keep it up. I ordered a BKT Brute yesterday, couldn't beat the pricing!

Man am I lucky, I just received a Galco Holster from Botach Tactical a few minutes ago. It was my first time ordering from them and I got lucky. It was perfect and the shipping was super fast. Looks like your ok unless you have a problem and need customer service.
 
Well, I got my BK-1 today! I did call Botach on Wednesday to see if I could get a UPS tracking number, since the order tracking via Yahoo didn't have it. The tracking number finally showed up on Yahoo today. I was told on Wednesday that someone from Customer service would get back to me. No calls either Thursday or Friday, but it did get here! The tracking on Yahoo today shows it as delivered. They're getting better!

If so I have never recieved a purchase late, in fact they have been here ahead of the delievery date

I have purchased items rangeing from 45 ACP clips, to Glow sticks, to tactical Holsters & haven`t one time recieved anything late or had a problem. In fact every person I have emailed or spoken to has been prompt & very freindly.

This doesn`t seem like them at all....Im not saying it didn`t happen to you it`s a shame it did, Im Just saying that it`s strange, Because everyone I work with orders from them for all there tactical needs & has also never had any problems. hummmmmmmmm !
 
A search of The Firing Line forums also shows an unpredictable pattern of customer service from Botach. I've ordered from them twice. Both times I had terrible luck reaching them on the phone. The first order showed up in a timely manner. The second one did not.

In one thread I found on TFL, this interesting post showed up:

I looked up the BBB report on Botach Tactical and here's what they say:

"Based on our standards, we rate this company as having an unsatisfactory business record. In this case, our complaint history for this company shows that although the business has responded to some customer complaints brought to its attention by the Bureau, others remain unanswered."

If you have a complaint, file it with BBB. Maybe with enough complaints, Botach will pull their act together.</font>

I did a search at the BBB website listed above and found the same information...

That's the place, Botach Tactical. I've ordered a few times from them. The first order was for a Streamlight Scorpion. Botach has great prices. I never received email confirmation on this order, so I phoned them. Talked to a guy who was helpful and he said that I'd get the confirmation - never did. Tried again, was told I'd get confirmation with a tracking number - never did. Scorpion arrived on time anyway! Next time, I ordered one of the Sure Fire Nitrolon Commander 8NX lights, again a great price! This time, the Yahoo site showed confirmation, and a UPS tracking that showed "manifest received". It stayed like this for over a week. I phoned, and fould out that this meant that it was entered into the UPS system, but was never received by them - only a label was printed. Evidently the light had not come in, and was on backorder from Sure Fire, awaiting the chargers. Emails were originally sent on this order, but I've never gotten an answer to any emails sent to their customer service dept. Item was sent out a couple of days after Botach received their shipment. The BK-1 was the last order I placed with them. My experience shows poor communication, but not like the horror stories some others have had. I think that if you stay on top of orders placed with them, and they have it in stock, they're pretty good, but if it's on backorder, they don't seem to be as motivated to complete your order. I don't think they're dishonest, just some sloppy employees. All comments from anyone dealing with the owner have been great.

Within the past two months I have ordered a 2000 Commander BTS, a SS Luminox, a La Griffe, and Hi-Tec Elite Force Boots. Each time I've ordered from Botach my order has arrived in two days or less.
It's a shame that some of you guys have had such a bad time with them. Hopefully they've straightened out their customer service personnel, but I have no complaints whatsoever about them.

I feel lucky, I just received my order from them...No problems. They sent me the tracking number for the order in less then 24 hrs.

I can`t believe it either..I`ve always had no problems. Maybe I should start thinking twice before ordering anything else from them. Even the guy`s I talk to every day Say they recieved there this & that on time, Never Im still waiting. DUNNO ? It is a SHAME...

I have to add my nym to the bad talley.

I've ordered three times from them and each time they only fulfilled part of the order. This last time they even charged my card butt I still have not received the goods.

I will not be sucked in by their low prices again as I have lost more in my time and frustration fighting to get what they promised.
 
Not only is this the most recent of several threads on this company, it is exactly like the others. Well, with the exception of the quote from their BBB.

Such threads always start with a genuine horror story. Usually several others chime in with their own stories of serious problems. Then, somewhere along the line several post saying they've had absolutely no problem whatsoever, many repeat purchases with great service, etc.

I abhor censorship. I would like to suggest some, however. I believe that any complaint threads posted about Botach (sp?) should mean that the posters should never be able to post a complaint here, when their turn comes and they receive the crappy service that has messed up so many others.

I'm behind in my forum reading, so will postpone -- or as often happens totally forget about this by tomorrow -- a search of such threads and see if we have any switchers posting complaints, who've previously said, "no problem." If I find them, will do a 27.5 second rant to them.

I'm as Scottish as anyone -- well almost -- but after reading first thread against this company, immediately decided that would never consider them as potential vendor.

I have trouble believing that saving a couple bucks is worth the considerable likelihood of having problems so bad that their local BBB labels them completely unreliable, and unresponsive to customer complaint issues. The simple act of putting people who aren't fluent in English in their CS department is prima facie evidence they don't give a rat's a#$ about pleasing their customers.

I often offer advice to newbies who've asked a particularly general question or two, hoping to give them the chance to make a reasonably satisfactory beginning in our world. I often recommend searches, but don't believe I've ever suggested searches in G,B,&U for dealers before they buy. Gotta try to remember to do that in future.

Always check out Bayou LaFourche before buying. SInce the selection there is a bit more limited than some dealers, always check with 1SKS re their willingness to match another dealers price. Except for great sales, and shootist16 whom I almost forgot, I see little reason to deal with other dealers, unless an item isn't carried by the two/three. (A caveat here. My first attempt to purchase a knife from 1SKS may have me writing something negative here in the near future. If the second one, already underway isn't satisfactory, then guess you can count on it.)

Sagi, you have resurrected a thread that ran from December 6, 2000 to June 9, 2001. You are way late in thinking to correct anything. That does seem typical of the Botach response we have come to expect, though. We do not appreciate you trying to make a sales pitch here, either.
