Bunny Knife 2022

some dont have any

I noticed. :(

I counted five people who didn't qualify for a knife, but still purchased one (and that's just the people who were dumb enough to comment about it) before I decided to say screw it. I'd like to think there is going to be some proper vetting, but I don't feel very optimistic about it. I just feel bad for the long-time members that are going to be logging on Friday/Saturday/Sunday, only to find out that they missed out on the knife so that people who don't care enough about the forum to participate can get their collector's item.

Spark said there's more than a hundred left. I guess they still have a chance. And I am sure that people who don't qualify will just get refunded and nothing else.

Just because they placed an order doesn't necessarily mean they will receive one. The vetting may happen after...notice the banner says "preorder".

You know what... If a mod doesn't like it, they can delete it and/or smack me around a bit (but wouldn't it be silly to be upset about getting help with the vetting?).

Eads1999, metaxasm, Pennlu, FranklinG, Phill50, Andre Basset, Rperryman, CuzDoug85, and Hvactech all put in orders for the knife, but didn't qualify.

It's a measly 25 posts and a paid membership that supports the site. If people can't be bothered to participate at those minimal levels (or at least read the damn rules), I don't think they should be getting a knife over members with hundreds or thousand of posts in the Traditional subforum. 🤷‍♂️

Alright, time to trust the process now.

Someone just pulled up a 20 year old thread.
The most upsetting thing is when you read comments in those old threads made back in the days, check people's profiles out of curiosity and find that their last visit was, for example, six years ago. Makes me sad.

Is it time to allow those who have qualified and purchased one already the privilege to buy another? I noticed a few who met all of the qualifications but couldn’t afford a gold membership. I’d be willing to to send one their way. 🤷
Gift them a membership? I guess if they couldn't afford a membership they probably can't afford a knife

I am a little surprised. However, this is what I was hoping for, the fan bois aren't interested because it's not a "Barlow ".
I was thinking it was because there wasn’t as much buildup this year, so all the “other” folks didn’t show up.

The low key release, the lack of build up, and perhaps. Anyone know if social media pages have been alerted? Some traffic during the “build up” has often come from those groups.

I don't even want one but I'm half tempted to spam up 25 posts in traditionals just so everyone will think I'm trying to game the system. ;) (No, I'm not going to actually do this, it was a joke because of all the twisted panties this causes every year.) Real question is that with all the demand why don't they just have more made? The GEC side may be unable to handle a larger order?

I'm surprised these are still available. Perhaps the weekend visitors will snatch up what's left? Technically it is a pre-order so maybe if sales falter the final tally can be adjusted so Spark doesn't get stuck with a bunch of unsold knives?

500 is GECs limit. They could make more, that's just the arbitrary sfo rule.
