Spark said there's more than a hundred left. I guess they still have a chance. And I am sure that people who don't qualify will just get refunded and nothing else.I just feel bad for the long-time members that are going to be logging on Friday/Saturday/Sunday, only to find out that they missed out on the knife
Just because they placed an order doesn't necessarily mean they will receive one. The vetting may happen after...notice the banner says "preorder".I noticed.
I counted five people who didn't qualify for a knife, but still purchased one (and that's just the people who were dumb enough to comment about it) before I decided to say screw it. I'd like to think there is going to be some proper vetting, but I don't feel very optimistic about it. I just feel bad for the long-time members that are going to be logging on Friday/Saturday/Sunday, only to find out that they missed out on the knife so that people who don't care enough about the forum to participate can get their collector's item.

The most upsetting thing is when you read comments in those old threads made back in the days, check people's profiles out of curiosity and find that their last visit was, for example, six years ago. Makes me sad.Someone just pulled up a 20 year old thread.
Is it time to allow those who have qualified and purchased one already the privilege to buy another? I noticed a few who met all of the qualifications but couldn’t afford a gold membership. I’d be willing to to send one their way.Anyone else surprised it’s not sold out yet?
Gift them a membership? I guess if they couldn't afford a membership they probably can't afford a knifeIs it time to allow those who have qualified and purchased one already the privilege to buy another? I was thinking it was because there wasn’t as much buildup this year, so all the “other” folks didn’t show up.I am a little surprised. However, this is what I was hoping for, the fan bois aren't interested because it's not a "Barlow ".
The two go hand in hand.I was thinking it was because there wasn’t as much buildup this year, so all the “other” folks didn’t show up.
Yeah. Up until a few days ago most posts were in for sale threads.I already count at least two people who have said they’re in, and paid for a knife who don’t even have enough posts to qualify.
You can stop posting now @CuzDoug85. Your last three machine gun posts in the thread put you over the minimum post count.
I apologize, I meant gifting them a knife.Gift them a membership? I guess if they couldn't afford a membership they probably can't afford a knife
Darren, took care of things in our FB club. It has been a no post zone. The low key release, the lack of build up, and perhaps. Anyone know if social media pages have been alerted? Some traffic during the “build up” has often come from those groups.
500 is GECs limit. They could make more, that's just the arbitrary sfo rule.I don't even want one but I'm half tempted to spam up 25 posts in traditionals just so everyone will think I'm trying to game the system.(No, I'm not going to actually do this, it was a joke because of all the twisted panties this causes every year.) Real question is that with all the demand why don't they just have more made? The GEC side may be unable to handle a larger order?
