Bunny Knife 2022

Maybe we need a rule that the post count "stops" when the new BF knife announced? So further posts won't count and everyone would rely only on their actual activity?

We also need to start a thread like this every time, D Danke42 , that's really a solution, kinda.

Only need one post, and it can be in the ordering thread. Only need to type one word ....

Take

Funny how BF and FB folks dislike each other, while I always thought we are all participating both here and there. Because, you know, we like traditional knives, GEC knives in particular. But now it sounds like there is a war between two tribes... Well, I am not going to participate in any silly internet warfare, got enough of that back in my younger days. Well, guess even old respected gentlemen can argue in the web like kids, too. And that's not about myself, lol, not that old.

The issue isn't anything to do with Facebook versus Forums. It's to do with the fact that Bladeforums knives mean profit for those who get their hands on them with the intent to sell them. Every year, we get in a bunch of people with low or no post count who only joined up (or who only dust off their account) when a new Forum Knife is announced. They aren't participatory members here, they don't care about Bladeforums, they care about getting their hands on a GEC that will go for hundreds on secondary, or which can be used as trade bait for some other desirable GEC over on the Facebook pages (or on Reddit/Insta/etc).

And as is the case every year, enough of these dirtball nobodies get knives that inevitably, well known, participating members on the Porch are left without because they had to work, or else had something else going on in their real life, that they happened to be offline for a few days and missed the drop. It happens every year. Wait, strike that, funny, none of this happened when it was a Lionsteel knife a couple years ago.

And listen, folks are free to disagree with me, but riddle me this: if our Forum Knife were say, an Opinel or SAK with a Bladeforums logo, would dudes from GECC and the Slipjoint pages be joining up, or dusting off old accounts and suddenly running up all the threads on the Porch trying to meet whatever the post requirements of the year are?

No. They come here and do it, because it's a GEC, and they want the loot, and couldn't care less about our community, which is what we don't like. Simple as that.

We have a slight misalignment between what we want to happen and what actually happens. Outsider comes in and says, “Where’s da forum knives at?!”, and we spend the next 10 pages reminding them they’re turds, but they’re not going to ever see it that way. The ol’, “you’re not welcome here” routine isn’t going to deter these pukes.

We’re strategically tearing our own stuff up.

Well that escalated quickly. I am a member of both and I do agree with Quiet Quiet there has been a few people posting ridiculous stuff about BF. 99 percent of the people are cordial over there but it does kind of piss me off when I read it. I see no reason why it has to be that way.

Its funny how the day it is posted on the facebook page this happens over here. I have seen the prices the forum knives are sold for on FB and fleabay and its disgraceful. I am usually not one to dictate what people sell things for but making money off of committed volunteers is really shady.
