Bushwacker Mistress. . . . Spy Pics!!!!!!. . .. YOWZA!!!!!

Honest opinions wanted. I'm buying my first Mistress, I was considering an NMFBM, but the idea of direct from the factory is appealing. The only thing that worries me is how thin this is, how well do you think it will hold up to heavy batoning? Also, against hard woods etc... thinner = better in regards to chopping?

230grains :

its infi man! it wont submit to anything! the only tradeoff with a thinner blade is the full power in the swing. but that might be worth to lose in favor to a faster and lighter blade.

but why lose any feature? get both! the NM ROXXXX but she needs a thinner sister to play with : )

Get both!;)

Actually I'm a rock climber . . . .

Me too my friend!!! . . . . I often climb into my scotch cabinet and have my scotch on the rocks!!!. . .. . . . Does that count?. . . .

On a side note; The texturing on the Bushwacker handles is not overly aggressive and is designed to move in the hand while chopping without shredding your palm. . .

Let's Drink!!!. . . It's breakfast time!!!!!

Jerry :D

Sure does  Climbing and drinking go together almost as well as chopping and drinking :D

I've batoned my mojo, which is a pretty thin blade, and it's held up just fine. You won't get as much chopping power as the super heavy NMFBM, but you will also tire out more slowly, so it's a good tradeoff in my eyes. I'll take slower chopping with enough strength left in my arm to lift a single malt to my lips after the chopping is done.

I would say go for the Bushwhacker now, while you can get it at factory prices. There are lots of NMFBM's out there, so you can always get one on the secondary market later down the line if you decide you want something heavier than the Bushwhacker.

I have a ZTBM that has been used heavily and the thinness of it (same as the Bushwhacker) is of no concern. It's actually superior IMO due to weight savings and unbeatable performance INFI.

Jerry, please do not release the BWBM on Wednesday November 4th! I am busy that night and I want a fair shot at scoring #1!!!

I'm hoping this will be a regular offering. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Thanks,

Jerry, is this something that we might see released prior to the holidays? It would be good to know so plans can be made and wish lists adjusted accordingly. ;)

Very cool, I can hardly wait specs. and price details to be released.

My guess is that we won't see as many choices as the TB.

and I'm guessing that seeing choil-less BMs is like seeing a CG Chuckette offering for $299.

not everyone likes choils, but most seem to agree it's the big blades where they make sense.

;)

To me they only make sense on a medium sized blade.

There’s no need to choke up for better point control on a 4” blade. There’s no point in choking up for better point control on a 10” blade. In either of these cases you’re better off with blade right to the handle. You can have a good comfortable grip and do fine carving at the point of greatest control.

It’s only on medium sized blades that a choil makes sense. Using the choil for better point control on a 6” or 7” knife offers enough advantage to balance the loss of edge and the loss of a comfortable, all fingers grip.
