Busse Combat, How to Right a Wrong!

If you read the last paragraph in my last post, that would solve any storage problems and would be good for Busse's Business and the Consumers who want to buy there knives.

RickJ

I think that the bottom line is that Busse provided those links as a basic service to their customers. They should not be held responsible for anything beyond that.

Sheesh, I guess it is true that no good deed goes unpunished.

I agree it is a good thing for Busse to provide the links to the Sheath makers but again all I am saying is say the real deal, not what the website says. Again, if your website says that we provide the knife but you have to send your knife in for a sheath, no problem beecause it is not misleading, but again if you read what their website says, it would lead someone to believe that the sheath makers on their site have a knife to make your sheath with.

RickJ

Ahem, ...the knives are not available yet.

Is this thing on?

Helloooooooo

perhaps the sheath makers might have blanks to build from when the knives become available...again, this is just a theory.;)

...And they WILL. Just not yet. Your statement in post #1 is more misleading than their website (i.e. "The WRONG...")
As Matteo Escobar pointed out, Busse Combat provided a list of excellent sheath makers as a convenience to the customer. They didn't have to do this, but did as an extra service to both the customer & those sheath makers worthy of mention (Certainly not a complete list, but all on it are darn good!). Busse makes nothing for this. If you wish to fault them for being nice, well then go ahead... But in the realm of "right is right & wrong is wrong", that would be wrong. Challenging the Busse Combat customer service staff for something outside their bailiwick is something I wouldn't call "right" either. Like I stated before... Busse Combat has no control over the sheath makers. They work for themselves. Busse does not make sheaths, only fine knives. When the knives begin to ship out, sheath makers will have them available to make sheaths.

You write very well, My only issue is the Website says Busse provides a knife to the sheath maker so they can make the sheaths. That is misleading and other people have stated that as well on this thread. Again, go to www.combatknives.com, then go to sheath options and read the top paragraph. It is misleading!

RickJ

"...And God said to Abraham, "You will kill your son Isaac." And Abraham said, "I can't hear you. You'll have to speak into the microphone." And God said, "I'm sorry. Is this better? Check, check, check. Hey Jerry pull the high end out, I'm getting some hiss back here."..." Family Guy quote.

WHERE does the site say that Busse provides a knife to the sheath makers???????????? Please tell me, and I'll shut up! They have to buy their knives just like US, and wait for delivery... Just like US.

You know I am a die hard Spyderco fan! but if they had a misleading statement on their website, I would let them know right from wrong!

...And they would respond in kind if the issue was not with them, I'm sure. Heck, I don't work for Busse, I'm just a customer like you.

I agree it could be worded better. But it does not say they provide any sheath makers with a knife. Unless I am blind.

Busse Combat Knife Site said:
Please note that these sheath makers are just a few of the many qualified out there. We have assembled this list of quality makers, in no particular order, for your convenience. They have Busse blades to work with so you can simply order directly from them without having to send in your own knife. Busse knives do not come with a sheath. This is to your benefit, as you are now able to choose the type, style and maker of your very own custom sheath.

It doesn't say Busse provides anyone with anything. You are right Jaxx, the makers have to buy their knives and wait for them just like everyone else.

Jerry will (as if he hasn't already goteen a glut of emails already) be made aware of this thread so he can address the issue of the wording on his site if he feels compelled to do so.

You know the bottom line is I will do what I have to do to get a sheath later, I will learn to take it easy with them. Here is some history, I have purchased two other Busse's back when they provided sheaths in the later 90's. Yes they sucked, and the custom sheath makers is a good thing. I did have some problems with my purchases back then and will not go into detail because that dog don't hunt. So this is my first purchase since they went to their new system of doing business. I think their knives look far better than they use too! thats why I decided to try them out again. I think it is time to let this thread die a good death. A good learning experiance for me.

RickJ

Rick if you think it has gone far enough, you should be able to go into the original post in edit mode and there ought to be a box you can check to close the thread. If you so desire a moderator can close it for you. I leave it up to you, it is your thread.

I think you will be well pleased with the ASH1 when they ship, welcome back.

You did not read that part of the paragraph from Busse's website that says "they have Busse knives to work with"

May God Bless you and yes I am looking forward to getting the ASH-1.

If a moderator could close this thread for me would be great!

Thanks
RickJ

I did several times. That is true, however they are not provided with them. They bought them & waited for each in turn to be delivered like we do.
Trust me, you are gonna love the ASH-1!!! :D:thumbup:

They did not buy them, I talked with one of the sheath dealers today, and they told me Busse gave them a few knives when they started this but stopped!

I believe that had heard that Rowe's Leather had received a few loaners a few years ago, so long as they promised to never sell them, but I might be wrong about this. However, I don't believe that any have received any for at least a year. Which sheath maker did you talk to? (If ya don't mind me askin')

Sorry! this is not about the Sheath maker at all, just giving you my point of view, I have thoughts on this but most don't agree so thats OK!

I really would like a moderator to close this thread!

I get the fact that I will have to get a sheath, most likely by sending my knife in, but we all had a good talk tonight and I have learned some good things. So all is well in my Knife world.

God Bless all and have a good night!
