Magnum vs standard SJtacs to me feel like ABSOLUTE different knives. The mag versions feel like they should have a larger blade for some reason and feel overall way burlier. The standards feel like a Lazer beam in hand in comparison. Just my 2c and personal opinions though. I have smaller mitts so I could see others with larger wanting the mags by default.Resized_20220414_230656_03.jpeg

I know I'm getting a stonewashed and green g10. Leaning for muddy with black g10 but I am tempted to get a satin with black micarta. Like I said, I don't need 3 😂

Yup. The magnums just feel a little odd to me. I prefer the standards with the same thickness throughout.

I hope Jerry considers bringing that option back.

On a more serious note, I have a feeling based on looking at the pics we do have that it's pretty similar to the Jack Hammer 10 handle dimensionally. I'd be shocked if it were as thin as the Axe Hammer or standard SJTAC handles, it seems many here really do prefer the magnum style grips and Garth recently noted that they just did away with the standard vs magnum option a while ago and now everything is just magnum.

I've been hoping they'd bring this back for many years actually. Far and away the best logo they've ever had, IMO.

Ironically, I somehow failed to remember this after I placed my order and sent the Busse folks a message later that I wanted it made sterile (no logo). It wasn't until after I received them that I realized what a blunder I'd made, lol. I've been defaulting to sterile on anything besides Custom Shop stuff because I really don't like the plain lettered logo and I must have forgot this AFBM release had the old badass logo back on it. Live and learn, no regrets.
 
I'd imagine magnum in g10 would feel even more off. The weight between my 2 micarta reg and mag is pretty noticeable in hand
 
That said.. I could still comfortably use the magnum set.. and I doubt the same could be said for guys with oven mitts and the standard handles.
 
Wouldn't be very hard to pop the scales off and sand down an 8th and re attach either if anyone's super worried
 
Damn... Well, I wasn't going to... But, I have plans for it! (or i would've gone for one of the great deals readily available)...Satin/Green mircata.. Now, off to the street corner I go..😭
