Busse Khukuri

WOW!!!!! Now that is what I have always wanted to see!!! In my opinion that Kukri if made would be able to out sell anything Busse has ever made. It is my new "grail knife" and one which in our Armed Services I could sell every time I took it out of the sheath.
The performance on that would be staggering as a chopper......to say that it could be a mainstay private purchase amongst our Special Forces is no exageration....and if the Gurka's could afford them....which sadly I doubt....they would truely make them famous.
Personally I would love to see this made and a small batch sent to them for evaluation.
The dimensions though would need to right for a carry knife....not too big and heavy....but it would certainly set a new bench mark for a "combat knife"!

Okay, okay :

Coupchoux you have done it! Just can't take my eyes off this picture. Would not dare to imagine what I might do when the real knife is made.

If that Khukri is never made.....it would be one of the greatest losses to knife making I can think of.....for goodness sake don't let that happen!

If Jerry or Garth or anyone at Busse see's this Khukri drawing can they chime in as to whether it could be made as a custom shop knife if there are no plans to make it as a full run?

That will do ... !!!

What folder ...... >??????????????? :confused::confused: Bring the Khukuri !!!!!!!!!!!!! :thumbup::thumbup:

Coupchoux,

If possible can you take your last drawing and add a finger choil in so the blade can be choked up for fine work with the edge starting straight off from the groove and if you could add a clip point as per Jerry's first drawing with small serrations and one final large serration for a wire stripper.....not too far back with the clip....so it can still be easily batonned....then for me it would be my "ultimate" Kukri design? I appreciate it might be a bit much to ask....just fascinated with what can be done here....

a swedge like in Jerry's drawing would be cool (and different) a little more angle on the handle coupled with a full height grind and little choil would make for the most amazing knife and I think would rival the BM in popularity. No serrations though, why saw when you can chop ??

Check out this cool video (bad sound dub too), I know it's cold steel but check what the khuk does to that meat. Arguably any sharpened piece of metal would do the same but it shows how much power these things have in a semi-real world scenario !!

Jerry, make this and get some coin for your retirement !!!

No serrations though, why saw when you can chop ??

The saw would be to make square notches for figure 4 traps, shelter making and tent pegs. It would add a lot of flexibility for a "take one knife" situation. I think it would be nice for a LE or a SE.

Brilliant!!!!:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

The finger choil will really help on fine work when the blade is as big as this.

I love it! A clip/swedge with serrations was for trap/notch cutting....also helps getting a good strike from a ferro rod.....but you could get by without it.

The last deep serration was for stripping/wire cutting....useful IMO on a combat knife....gives better control....but again you can get by without.

I just love looking at this!!!! Waiting to hear from Garth on a custom shop possibility.........fingers crossed!!

I agree the choil will help but in the above configuration it would cause havoc. The point needs taking out of it or it will cause more harm than good !!

I appreciate harmonica's efforts and didn't mean the comment to insult.
